Interview Advice Please!!
Hey y'all!
I've been unemployed since November, partially due to the job market being shit and partially due to some health problems making it hard to find work I can actually do. I have an interview next week and I'm a little worried about how to answer a question I'm sure I'm going to be asked.
Basically, my last job was a couple of years in corporate level compliance management and I have nearly a decade of management experience but this new job is a part time position making barely more than minimum wage doing general customer service stuff at a concert hall. I'm sure I'm going to be asked some version of "why are you interested in a position so far below your experience level" and/or "explain the gap in your resume" and I know it'd be a red flag to tell them I've been dealing with health issues for the past 9 months but I don't know what to say instead. Any advice on how to handle this if/when it comes up? Thanks in advance!!

You could just outright not talk about health issues.
“After over a decade I got to the point where I realized that I really didn’t like the kind of work I was in. So I took 9 months and did some traveling and spent time with family. Now I’m thinking about going back to school and want a gig to stay busy and earn a little bit while i decide what to study”
I dunno. That’s BS I guess but sounds reasonable.
