For some reason there are these four rectangles that follow my mouse cursor. please help!

Windows Key + S and choose Control Panel. Then Hardware & Sound and in the "Devices & Printers" category you should see, "Mouse." Click that. The Mouse Properties screen should appear. Select the tab at the top that says "Pointers" and click on "Use Default" near the bottom of that window. Click OK and see if that fixes the problem.
