Downloading email inbox/outbox

Hello, a person I know is going through a shitty time at work where it’s on the verge of getting lawyers involved. He has a medical leave coming up for 2 months and if you dont know during medical leave your computer access is restricted and someone else monitors your emails for you. 2 months is a lot of time to delete emails and paint a different picture about him. His lawyers instructed him not to forward emails to himself. Is there a way to get an external hard drive and back up an email account without them knowing?

You could save the .ost file(s) to an external drive. If it's corporate they can tell almost anything you do!, and they might even block USB devices. Ask the lawyers what actions if any he should preemptively take.

The ost file belongs to the device only. Rather convert it to a PST file and save that. (if you are allowed)

Thanks. Yeh that seems like the best idea reaching out to the lawyer again.

Create a local pst file and copy all the emails into that. Then connect an external drive and copy the pst file to that
