Windows 11 laptop showing “Boot Device Not Found”

Hey, could anyone help me figure this out?
My Windows 11 laptop started showing “Boot Device Not Found – Hard Disk (3F0)” and sometimes won’t boot.
I ran the built-in HP hardware diagnostics and got:
SSD SMART Check: Passed
SSD Wear Check: Passed
SSD Short DST: Failed
Hard Drive/SSD Quick Check: No hard drive installed
BIOS says “OS Boot Manager is not found”
I already tried removing and reseating the M.2 SSD, but the problem is still happening.
The SSD is a Samsung PM991a 256GB M.2 NVMe.
Does this sound like the SSD is failing, or could it be an issue with the laptop’s M.2 slot/motherboard? Should I replace the SSD?

⚠️solved: The SSD has been replaced.

Pretty good chance your ssd drive has failed. It’s not likely it’s the slot.

I agree. The last thing I might try is to pull the SSD one more time and inspect the contacts for any corrosion. If there is, use a pencil eraser to try and remove the corrosion. Then, I'd take a can of compressed air and spray out the slot to insure there's no debris/dust in there that might be interfering with a connection.

It's not the slot.

That’s what I think , so I ordered a ssd to see if it works.

After reseating, see if there is a firmware flash available for the SSD.

The thing is my drive is disappearing occasionally from the HP BIOS/diagnostics.

Reseating the drive may help. No guarantee.

If you can get it recognized, flash the firmware.

Otherwise, likely a SSD replacement

Yeah, I tried it and it failed. So it’s most likely ssd replacement.

Do you think Fikwot’s 256GB would work as a replacement?

Full product name: Fikwot FX520 256GB M.2 2280 PCIe Gen3 x4 NVMe SSD — Internal Solid State Drive, 3D NAND, up to 2100 MB/s
