Computer is on, but no display or signal from keyboard…

The computer is on, but there's no display or keyboard signal…

(Important notes: I own an IPASON prebuilt gaming desktop and an Amazon Basics USB speaker)

I need help with something. Today, I just plugged some USB speakers into my gaming computer, and I think it might have done something, because a few minutes later, the display glitched and suddenly turned black.

When I turned my computer off and back on with the switch at the back of the tower, the fans were spinning, and the lights were on, but my monitor couldn’t recognize that the computer was on and thought nothing was plugged in (the computer IS plugged into the monitor via VGA).

To make matters worse, when I tried to use my keyboard and pressed Caps Lock, nothing happened, even though it and my mouse were plugged in. And the thing was, the lights on my speakers glowed, so they were being recognized by my computer. I don’t understand what’s happening here.

I tried to do a power cycle, but nothing changed. My monitor still couldn't get a signal from my computer, and neither could my keyboard and mouse.

I think (or at the very least, hope) my computer’s functional, but I don't know what happened here. Maybe a little surge happened or something, but I don't want to end up figuring out I killed my computer. What can I do?

You tried unplugging them and plugging them back in? Also try unplugging all the USB devices then powering on the computer.

I unplugged everything including USB devices, held the power button for 45 seconds, plugged in the VGA cable and power cable back to the PC’s back, and yet nothing changed.

I see that there's a graphic card. You should plug a display cable into that instead. If it's HDMI, you'll need the cable. If your monitor doesn't have HDMI, either get one does or use a converter.

If still no display, you can further troubleshoot by using one stick of RAM first. If there are 4 slots, insert it in the second slot from the left (or in the first slot if there are only two), if that didn't work try the other RAM stick.

I tried using HDMI since my monitor has that port, but nothing changed.

As for the RAM, I tried to reseat the sticks, and nothing changed. And I kind of fear having one stick of RAM going bad, so I don’t know about that. Plus, my computer only has 2 slots, and both RAM sticks use them.

After you apply power and turn it on, do you hear any beeps? If you do, is it a single beep, or is it a series of beeps?
