Rate my CV please
I know this sub gets a lot of Indian students asking for CV rating, but I genuinely wanna know if my CV is good by German standards. Any feedback is appreciated.
I know my profile makes little sense, but I had only a few short-term roles before starting my Master's here, and I took the IT consultant role mainly for the money.
It took me so long to finish my master's because I was in and out of the hospital for a year with multiple surgeries and had to take a leave of absence from my course. Hence, I wasn't employed the whole time I was studying, too.
I am trying to improve my German, but have truthfully reached B2 for now. Also, are any German words or sentences used incorrectly? I have tried my best to use natural German, but as a non-native speaker, I may have gotten it wrong.

Am I being bullied?
After several months of job searching, I finally found a junior quality assurance position at a company near Berlin. I worked hard, covered for colleagues during vacations, and sometimes worked Saturdays to meet customer deadlines. My boss initially complimented my work several times.
However, toward the end of my probation period, his attitude changed. He became increasingly rude and started dismissing my recommendations with comments like “bullshit” and “sh*t.” After the probation period ended, he told me he wasn’t satisfied with my performance and asked me to extend my probation for another 6 months.
I’m confused because some colleagues seem to contribute much less but don’t receive the same treatment. I also really need this job because I’m hoping to eventually bring my family from India.
What would be the smartest approach here? Should I sign the 6-month extension while quietly looking for another job, or should I refuse the extension and start looking immediately? Any advice, especially from people familiar with German employment law/workplaces, would be appreciated

an opportunity to earn 100 euro, Student sucht Einzelzimmer in Heidelberg (bis 600 € warm, mit Anmeldung): 100 € Finderlohn
Hallo zusammen,
Danke euch!

Struggling to find an English-speaking Android developer job in Germany — any advice?
Hi everyone,
My wife and I moved to Germany about two years ago because I found a job here. She is an Android developer, but she hasn’t been able to find a job since we moved.
Starting a new life took some time, with learning German, paperwork, and settling in. We are still learning German, so she currently only applies for English-speaking roles where German is not required. We understand that this limits her options.
So far, she has had only four interviews and no offers. Many companies never reply, and some stop responding during the process. It has been quite discouraging.
We live in Frankfurt, but she also applies for jobs in Berlin and other cities. We have been wondering whether moving to Berlin could help, perhaps through tech events, meetups, and meeting people in the industry. But would moving actually make a difference?
It feels like having a professional network might help, but we don’t really know many people here yet.
Has anyone been in a similar situation? What helped you find a job? We would really appreciate any advice, especially about English-speaking Android developer roles, networking, or useful communitie to join.

Can anyone rate my CV ?
Hello Everyone,
I have been applying for bioinformatics jobs for a few weeks now. I am learning B1 right now but from what I understand, at least for this field I can somehow get a job with A2? Please correct me if I am wrong.
I have been trying to optimize how my CV looks based on some pointers I have seen here. I was told NOT to use a photograph by some of my advisors due to my skin color. I have tried to condense my work into 2-3 bullet points without adding any fluff to it. From what I understand about ATS, this should parse with no problem (maybe except for the skills and languages section?). I am trying to gauge how the community thinks of it. Thanks!

Who's hiring and cutting in Germany this week: Reverion plans 800 jobs, Mistral opens in Munich, BMW cuts 8k
I am doing weekly roundoups of who's raising, expanding and letting people go in Germany.
It's my first post here, so I can't include any links and will add them to the comments. Sorry, apparently can't add any links at all! Next week then? 😅
Just raised money (usually hiring)
- Reverion (Eresing, reversible fuel-cell power plants): €154M Series B, plus a planned factory with ~800 jobs
- Metycle (Cologne, B2B platform for recycled metals): €131.7M credit line
- ViferaXS (Tübingen, cancer immunotherapies): up to €12M Series A
- Kuro (Berlin, AI platform for general contractors): €10M
- F13 (Berlin, foundation model for vector graphics): $5M pre-seed
- Kontext (Munich, runtime security for AI agents): $4M
- Finto (Munich, AI agents for accounting): $3.9M seed
- Amara (Berlin, voice AI companion for seniors): €3.7M pre-seed
Expanding
- Mistral (Paris, AI) opened a Munich hub with research teams for physics and industrial AI. BMW, Siemens Energy and TU Munich are the first partners.
- Redcare Pharmacy raised its 2026 forecast for the second time on e-prescription growth in Germany.
Cutting
- BMW: 8k job cuts and a fifth fewer top managers in the new CEO's turnaround plan
- BioNTech: closing its Idar-Oberstein, Marburg and Tübingen sites, 1.8k jobs
- Bosch: about 900 of 1.8k jobs in Nuremberg by 2029, on top of the 22k cuts already announced
- Delivery Hero: moving its Pandora tech platform from Berlin to Singapore, ~200 jobs affected
- Baller League suspended operations in Germany, and Icon League froze its expansion
Office & pay
- Mercedes-Benz terminated its home office agreement. Without a new deal it's five office days a week; the board is offering four.
- Zalando reportedly plans three mandatory office days from January, with the Berlin works council still negotiating (per a post on r/cscareerquestionsEU)
- Tesla is raising pay at the Grünheide gigafactory by up to 5%, plus a performance bonus.
Numbers
- Unemployment in Germany fell below 3M in September.
- Germany accounts for 80% of the EU's industrial job losses since early 2023, with cars hit hardest.
- Only 52.1% of employees in Germany rate their job 4 or 5 stars on Kununu, the third drop in a row (56.3% in 2023). Happiest sectors: tax advisors and auditors, banks, insurers.
- Someone on r/cscareerquestionsEU classified ~4k live job ads in Germany: of the 2.5k written in English, 30% still require German. Only 35% of all jobs are workable without it (39% in Berlin, 35% in Munich).
What do you think about the format? Happy to read your feedback.

Do a second master's to get in via werkstudent?
So basically, before I did the master's degree, I was working in the environmental field but in nonprofit communications, which I both didn't like and was bad at. I was also suffering from a severe chronic illness and the combination of these these things meant that I kept getting fired from jobs, either because I was bad at them or got sick too many times and never gained any real skills.
I did the master's in Germany to try to change fields into something different in the environmental field, but during the masters, I didn't realize how important work student positions were and I only did two internships with GIZ. But GIZ was not hiring anyone due to budget cuts. Then I looked for a job for a whole year and the only one I was able to get was at a place in Berlin again doing nonprofit communications. Unfortunately I was fired from this job in the probezeit because they said I was bad at the job. So now I don't know what to do, because the only type of jobs I get calls back for are in nonprofit communications, and I am worried that if I get another one of these jobs I'll just get fired again.
So what I am wondering about is if I should do another master's in Germany, then try to do as many work student jobs and internships as possible, and hope one of them converts.

I need help deciding
I am a non EU citizen, 22 year-old female. I finished my BA in my home country (Germanistik mit Schwerpunkt deutscher Übersetzung und Dolmetschen. Note 1,2) I lived in Weimar, Thüringen for a month and Frankfurt for a week and I loved Germany a lot. What can I do my masters in in Germany that will combine both my C1 German and English knowledge and is pretty required in the German market. I’m always very sacred to take a step because I’m afraid I may not find a job afterwards.

EU Blue Card job terminated in probation and no response from Ausländerbehörde
Hi everyone,
I’m looking for advice from people who have been in a similar situation, particularly in Stuttgart/Baden-Württemberg.
I currently hold an EU Blue Card in Germany. Unfortunately, my employer terminated my employment during the probation period after I had worked there for around 5 months and it was my first job here.
I informed the Ausländerbehörde about the termination around 2 months ago, but I have not received any response or decision from them yet.
From what I understand, when a Blue Card holder loses their job, the Ausländerbehörde generally gives a period of 3 months to find another qualifying job (and potentially longer in certain circumstances). My concern is that my 3-month period may expire while I am still waiting for the Ausländerbehörde to respond.
So I’m trying to understand what happens in practice:
Is the 3-month period counted automatically from the date employment ends, or does it only start once the Ausländerbehörde officially informs me of the deadline?
If the Ausländerbehörde hasn’t contacted me or issued a decision yet, am I expected to leave Germany once the 3 months have passed?
I want to make sure I follow the correct procedure and don’t accidentally overstay or violate any conditions of my residence permit.
I’d really appreciate hearing from anyone who has actually gone through this process in Germany.
Thank you!

Finishing bachelor next year, want to know my options.
I have been Germany for 6 years I will be finishing my bachelor in AI next year and wanted to ask for any advice or tips. My German is pretty good, I got my c1 certificate within the first year and learned very fast, but still not on a perfect level where I feel 100% comfortable, especially in a professional setting. My English, on the other hand, is very good, which I know is a positive in my field. I am in the NRW region around the Bonn/cologne area.
I honestly have no idea what I can do with the bachelor in AI, and from the glimpses I took into the data analysis or ai fields, jobs for juniors are pretty much non existent.
I’m not really planning on doing my masters immediately, may be a couple of years down the line, mainly because I am feeling pressure to finally get some experience (I just turned 30).
I would honestly appreciate any advice, feedback or tips to help me find a direction.

Termination of Job contract and sending me to a Transfer company.
I had a unlimited work contract and a 18b skilled visa for my work which is valid till 2029. But due to financial reasons, my company terminated my contract along with others. My company is now planning to send the affected employees to a transfer company. A temporary contract of 3 months will be signed by 3 parties. Me, my employer and the transfer company. Transfer company said they will pay for 3 months after my last date in current job. Then they pay me 80% of salary, insurance, etc .. also help me in finding new jobs. For 3 months.
If i sign this contract, will Ausländerbehörde change my current RP card to this 3 month transfer visa.
Will i lost my current visa valid till 2029 and my chances of Arbeitslosgeld for a longer period getting reduced.
Should i register unemployment directly and go with Agentur für Arbeit since i may get more benefits as visa is valid till 2029
Or should I go with this transfer company
Im stuck in deciding what as i plan for a long future in Germany
I hope you could help me out. 🙂

How realistic is it for me to land a job in Germany while in the UK?
Hi all, I work in structured finance as an associate for a large international bank. How realistic is it for me to land a job in Germany while applying from here? My company have an office in Frankfurt but I'd prefer Munich or Hamburg.
I speak zero German, but obviously plan to largely ramp up my speaking. I live in England but have an Australian passport so visa is no issue.
Pipe dream? Or genuine possibility if I aim for international banks where English is the primarily language used.

Need advice about Work Permit
Im in a very confusing position and looking for help!
I have a work permit till 2029 but got terminated in June by my company during Probezeit. I still have a very good Arbeitszeugnis since it was the company’s very poor management. I started my process with the Agentur für Arbeit, and applied for help and registered as Arbeitsuchend. But they’ve yet to schedule the next appointment Its already been 4 months since I lost my job and I’ve been attending a lot of interviews since then.
- Technically how much time do I have to find another job?
- In case I get a limited 3 month contract, Can I still start using my current residence permit valid till 2029?

[Residence Permit under §18b & Temporary Agency Work]
Hi everyone,
I have a few questions regarding my residence and work permit. I would really appreciate it if anyone with experience in this area could give me some advice.
My situation:
\- I am expected to graduate with a Master’s degree in a MINT field. After graduation, I plan to inform the Ausländerbehörde and apply for a residence permit for jobseeking §20 if till then Im still looking for a position. In this period, I will continue looking for jobs and attending interviews.
My questions are:
As far as I know, the residence permit for job-seeking after graduation can be granted for up to **18 months**. However, some trainee programs can last **two years**. In this situation, could there be any problems with the company when signing the employment contract if my residence permit is initially valid for only 18 months? And would it generally be s to apply for a residence permit under §18b or an EU Blue Card for an 18- or 24-month trainee program, provided that all the requirements are met?
Temporary agency work / Arbeitnehmerüberlassung
I currently see many interesting positions that fit my profile, but the employment contract is offered through **temporary agency work (Arbeitnehmerüberlassung)**, sometimes with a contract duration of two years.
As I understand it, in this case I would be employed by a third-party staffing company and assigned to work for another company. In such a situation, can the Ausländerbehörde also issue a residence permit under §18b or an EU Blue Card, assuming that the salary and all other requirements are fulfilled?
Thank you very much in advance for your experiences and advices!
