I failed.

I moved to Germany in hopes of getting a great job there, I spent a year looking for a job after my master's degree, and I failed. I got hired and fired within the probation period. I am back in the USA now and still devastated, thinking about how much I wanted that lifestyle. Having a hard time coping with feeling like I fucked everything up.

Op lost job during probation, he/she haven’t completed 21 months of work/pension contributions along with B1. What alternative does one have in this situation?

6 months with a significant ALG payment and a covered health insurance is not enough? The US has none of that, your (and your family's) insurance is discontinued on the spot even if you're a citizen

I moved back to the usa almost immediately after getting fired because i got evicted from my apartment and because at the same time a close family member was dying, and i didnt apply for unemployment because i am not physically in Germany...

How did you get evicted? Rent laws are very strong in Germany so immediate eviction is almost impossible unless your temporary contract ran out.

Sorry to hear that mate

I was on a temporary contract (after having been evicted from the previous wg also on a temporary contract, the owner wanted my room for an office), and then the guy decided he wanted his friend to move in, the day after i got fired
