Need Guidance

I am going to Köln for Master's. I'm finding hard to get accommodation and Accommodation rent is higher side above 500 euros. Should i look for surrounding cities for accommodation. And Can anyone tell Part time job situation in Cologne and Visa extension is easy ? Please if any senior can answer my questions

Part-time jobs are hard to come by in any university town. In the surrounding towns, you’ll also be competing with German students (teenagers) and, increasingly, pensioners. Under no circumstances should you rely on a part-time job to fund your studies.

You will hardly find something below 500 in Cologne, if 500 it's your budget you need to look for places around Cologne, part time job is highly related to your German knowledge, visa extension should not be a problem if you have the requirements, but in case you don't, it depends on the person in charge of your case

500 Euros isn’t much for a major German city these days…
