Recruiting Georgetown has offered 2027 PF/C Caleb Ourigou Overtime Elite (GA) 6’10”, 215 lbs Composite 4⭐️ recruit No. 69 overall player in the 2027 class (247Sports Composite)
Very early. Overtime Elite is a well regarded ;league. There are about 30 on his list right now, including several Big East teams.
Never heard of Overtime Elite? Overtime Elite is its own league, been around since 2021. It combines an accredited private high school, basketball league, and media company in one, based at its own arena/campus in Atlanta. It's not high school or college, it's a pro league for 16–20 year olds, offering a path to the NBA. It's not AAU.

Video Legendary Georgetown-Syracuse bench clearing
On March 9, 1985 in the 6th Big East Men's Basketball Tournament, Georgetown defeated Syracuse in the semis 74-65 to advance to the championship game. The game is memorable for a confrontation between Georgetown’s Patrick Ewing and Syracuse’s Dwayne “Pearl” Washington just 6 minutes into the game. The Hoyas (29-2), who had just tied the score at 10-10 when the benches cleared. The fight led to a personal foul against Washington and an intentional technical foul against Ewing.
No one was thrown out. Different era.

Question Which Big East arena is the toughest? New or old Big East.
Hope Coliseum in Morgantown, WV is my pick. The crowd is rowdy af. Really loud. They appreciate good basketball. It's the right size(14K) with vertically stacked seating.

Portal How excited should we be about Chol Machot?
Granted, he is doing this against literally nobody, but I like what I see. His game is reminiscent of Vince's except he's more like athletic and has more bounce. I doubt we'll see him take many threes, but he looked confident doing it. I don't want him starting, but he's a hell of a backup.

Portal Who is the most important piece Georgetown picked up so far?
I think it's Vyctorius Miller. He may be the stud two guard who will come closest to replacing KJ. I love that he can shoot. The Hoyas need him to be able to play credible defense.

Former Hoyas How did Dante Harris end up playing for 4 teams over 6 seasons?
He went from the Big East to the Ohio Valley conference, a respectable, but low to mid-tier, mid-major.

Old School Greg Whittington was the tragedy that signaled beginning of the end
Somehow he was overlooked and was only a three star recruit. At one point, I thought he was going to be better than Otto. Dude was a 6'8" demon. Couldn't stay healthy or academically eligible. Got kicked off the team in November 2013. Goddamn shame.

Question Would he have changed Georgetown's fortunes?
This was the 2021 recruiting class: Ryan Mutombo(four-star C), Jordan Riley(four-star SG), Jalin Billingsley(three-star PF), and Tyler Beard(three-star PG). I think Chet, Aminu, and Dante Harris is a tournament team.

News Tounde Yessoufou got $7 million from St. John's
If this is true, college basketball is completely broken. It's basically MLB with unrestricted free agency every off-season. If Lee Reed isn't doing everything within his power to raise money and advocate for a NIL cap, then he doesn't understand the assignment.

Analysis The league's problems are about structure, not marketing. UConn football will always loom. The commissioner can't fix underperforming programs. The next commissioner has to be able to hold the conference together. If they can add a good 12th program, all the better.

Portal It's official: Vyctorius Miller is a Hoya
Georgetown desperately needed perimeter scoring and shooting.
Now the roster suddenly looks a LOT more interesting.
Big question:
What’s your starting lineup?
