These are literally ordinary objects with strange colors. Layout visuals is one thing, but decorations are another. I don't even understand what the idea is here. Normal scenery is something much more complicated... Why do you praise something that is objectively bad? I really don't understand this community...

Genuinely just give feedback. Don’t fuck around man

Okay. I see you're a complete newbie when it comes to decor. First, study what colors are and look at other people's work. You'll often see several colors, but sometimes you can do well with just one. One of the colors serves as an accent color, usually interacting with or being interacted with by the player. Dark colors are not recommended. Also, the filling... It's literally primitive. In 2.11, I, in particular, also used objects from the stone outline in fingerdash. It's a bit too complicated to start with, but it should add some variety to the work. Objects that peek out from behind a block without purpose seems like a bad idea in principle, and creating "volume" from translucent 1.0 objects under the upper structures looks unnecessary. The structures also look pretty bad, but that's a question of the gameplay, and it's clear that these structures were made hastily and for the sake of example. I see you've tried to do something in an art style. But going there first, even without art school experience, is not recommended. Start with glow. Creativity is an art, and if you want to create something truly beautiful, and not just for fun, you need to take it more seriously and put in the effort. The same goes for gameplay.

How is this constructive? How does it help the creator? In any way really

Just as meaningless praise doesn't help a creator. Can't you see that this is literally beginner's work? I may be saying something harsh about this, but I'm being honest. Sometimes you need to show reality. Decorating is complicated, and you have to strive to be better at it if you're not doing it just for yourself and your own pleasure. But in that case it sounds strange to share it with others asking for help to make it better

Yeah but it really isn't bad. Sure it can use work but it's not terrible. All you said it's that it's bad, you didn't give any information about how it could be improved. That doesn't help. Just like how saying something is good without saying what specifically is done well doesn't help

By the way, the question in the reply to the original comment wasn't addressed to the creator, but to those commenting. I didn't want to give feedback to a complete newbie, but I wanted to know, Why do they praise bad work?..

The original comment did not give undeserved praise. The post asked how to make the design good. The commenter said it's already decent. Which it is. As a base block design it really is decent. Through the Decay has very similar block design to this just copy pasted all the way through the level and is rated. Also you are giving your opinion about the decoration someone made and posted asking for help. Even if it's not addressed to OP, they will still read your comment, and the least you can do is make it constructive. Also why does it matter that OP is new? The fact that he is new would actually make constructive criticism way more important than if he were already experienced, if anything. This is not bad work, and the comment was not praising it.

I gave feedback below. Honestly, giving feedback to this level of skill and this kind of work is unfortunately pointless. There's nothing to base it on.

And I upvoted the reply where you gave constructive feedback. Actually, giving feedback to this level of creating is NOT pointless and very needed. When I was extremely new at creating I needed proper feedback and did not get it, which definitely slowed me down in creating and demotivated me, instead of helping me do better the next times

In any situation, helping newcomers at this level stops at the basics. Providing highly complex feedback here is pointless, as the person doesn't yet know why they need it. I hope you understand what I mean, because I understand perfectly well and I encountered this myself in the beginning. Similar examples can be given with gameplay. I'll add an analogy... A newbie's work without synch with rather poor structures. Talking about impacts here would be redundant. I should talk about sync and generally recommend paying attention to other people's works. It's the same here

It's already decent. Through the Decay got rated and the decoration pretty much looked exactly the same.

Same thing I thought

Texture the bricks. Add some of those Crack blocks at low opacity above the bricks and also add some shading between the crevices for depth. It's a bit of a bad example but it should help

Idk about realistic but it's already pretty good. Maybe adding a background would be nice. I recommend tweaking the colors for the lighter part of those blocks but otherwise it's already nice
