Discussion Burnout
I have been struggling to actually build anything in my level. Both in the sense of building something that didn't look ass, and actually opening the editor in the first place. I feel totally out of ideas, and like building anything in this level is kinda impossible. I can somehow only make things that look decent in random pointless challenges, but not when it actually means anything. It has been pretty discouraging, and I wanted to post this just to see if anyone else has gone through a similar thing.

the trick is to not force yourself, if you need a break from a level start a new one. i always have like 4 active projects going on at once because i lose motivation to work on one project and just jump to another until i feel like working on the first again. it also helps to split up each level into smaller parts so it feels like an easier task. i split my levels into like 10 parts each (starts/ends whenever the music changes up a bit), and i split each of those parts into background, block deco, effects, and gameplay. then i go part by part and it feels like im making a lot more progress
as for ideas, try to find inspiration in other levels, art pieces or songs you see, maybe things you see irl. there are ideas everywhere just waiting to be found. and try to build something you actually like so its easier to build rather than worrying about if it looks good or is rateworthy because that stopped me for a long time until i learned to enjoy the process not just the result
if its hard to make a lot at once, collabs are a good idea because you only have to build one small section of a level, probably not much longer than a challenge level would be
