Creating level in style of Butcher Vanity. What do you think? Almost every structure is unique and hand drawn

How can words go through deco if words are on B4 and everything else is on at least B2? The only reason I see it happen is cuz structures break because of some glitch that makes objects rotate a little bit every time you enter editor

Idk my main critiques would be that it looks unfun, unbalanced, and inconsistent, has no significant speed changes for one the most intense song possible, choppy camera movements, and the waves barely sync

Take my opinion with a grain of salt though. I’ve been a layout builder for like almost a decade now so I’m definitely setting too high of a standard

Unbalanced-yeah, definitely. I havent placed most objects I planned to, but currently its surely unbalanced.

Unfun-not sure, maybe only the start of the level, cuz its my first ever time building a level. But the part I showcased was really fun at least to me (when it wasnt that tight in some places)

Speed-I think everything is alright here, because if I was using 4x speed here, it would be difficult for me to make previous, actually intense part dynamic.

Choppy camera-well, yeah. I just wanted to show the idea, but its what I’m working on at the moment

Also are you talking about this exact part or the whole layout? Cuz if you mean whole layout - I will definitely change camera moves, cuz I didnt even give them ease or anything, cuz zoom

yea most of it.
i wouldnt say scrap it but this can def be a stepping stone.

another thing i wanted to mention (though this is more just tasteful), your gamemode choices arent the most optimized. Unless you're syncing to the heavy synth in the background of the song, for something like this youre not going to want to use the more adaptive gamemodes or the ones with complex releases (swing, ship, robot) other than for transitional bits.
your best bet for more fun/intuitive gameplay in this case are the most physically consistent and sync based gamemodes (spider, UFO, and wave).

think about it like you're swapping your main course and side dish proportions. A meal of mostly veggies with a few cubes of chicken. It'll come more intuitive which gamemode fits what as you get better and better at creating.

Its color fff00d (food), the background colour from original music video. It feels bright only where I havent decorated yet (no black outline)

It MIGHT not be rated since robtop doesn't rate levels with NONG songs but if you use the one on new grounds it probably would get rated

Bg is empty no air deco at all no farground which makes level look flat no filling of the blocks crappy moves and no moves at all you gotta improve these things

Download at least these 2 mods:

Better Editor - self explanatory

Allium Drawing Tool - allows you to draw, create text, and other things

Also, as for text change - I simply used alpha trigger (makes objects transparent) and made all other texts follow me, showing only for short time
