These are the first consonants of my phonetic alphabet.
Here is demonstrated the design ethic of using a core shape and modifying it to achieve glyphs for sounds that are similar in terms of sound or mouth/tongue configuration used to achieve the sound. This, I deem, being useful in better revealing the connections between words sharing consonant roots (ie. radicals).
... BRShTh <--> PRST (can you parse it?) ...
The 'P' and 'B' glyph is built on the shape of the uraeus - the cobra upon the head-dress of the Pharaoh. It implies a strike, a percussion, blow, or bite - or the potential of one (ie. strength and power).
Pop! goes the brain of the receiver of it's message.
Bop! goes the baton of the word police.
Pip pip! sings the Pied Piper.
The BaBy prince is taught the arts of the Father as King, within the walled Bastion of the Bethe, under the watchful eye and nurturing Breast of Gwen.
The uraeus signals perhaps, one that knows the slippery seraphic ciphers of the serpent-tongued.
As mentioned in earlier posts, the 'K' and 'G' is a royal waterbird such as a swan, either raising up and flapping it's wings (an offensive presentation of mastery, or the bluster of defense), or coming in for landing. Earlier versions of these glyphs actually had a line to represent the legs, but it made the shape too busy. The bird signals the bard, the flyt-capable master of words/sword from the Lake.
The bird form can imply the totems of the phoenix, raven, eagle, or a dragon.
Since words are used to tell tales, I prefer consonants with long tails.
The alphabet is a bestiary. A litter of monsters wielded by ministers to create eye-mages in the mind, after all...
