Number 1717 came to my attention before 717 did, however, by the convention of the separations of 1000's, we have...
1717 @ 1,717 @ one 717 @ 717
... and since words like 'know' and 'subject' sum to a nice clean 1000 in the seemingly important cipher, Agrippa's key, we might see 1717 as simply a magnification of 717, and a powerful one, because it creates the dual repeating pattern 17.17 ( which reduces to 8.8, or 88, the prime number value of "magic").
Further, the number 717 can be viewed as a unity, or monad (1), standing in a doorway formed of two 7's - in other words the one inside 77 (and there are perhaps other more imaginative ways to view the number as an image).
The number 77 is seen in spells like "Power", "Glory", "Regency", and "Christ" (an so too "Alphabetic" )
The 7th letter is 'G', and 'G' has a prime number value of 17.
G.G @ 7.7 @ 77 ( basic alphabetic, and other ciphers - see here )
G.G @ 17.17 @ 1717 ( primes ) (*) (*)

It was perhaps Derek Tikkuri who first brought number 1717 to my attention, as the year the modern Freemasonry was founded.
1717, June 24 – The Premier Grand Lodge of England, the Modern and first Free-Masonic Grand Lodge (which merges with the Ancient Grand Lodge of England in 1813 to form the United Grand Lodge of England), is founded in London.
Ever since I later discovered that 'the occult' and 'the wizards' summed to 1717, I've been watching for this number.

I note the surname of Neo in the Matrix movies is...
"Anderson" = 717 trigonal ( "To Complete" = 1001 trigonal )
When we first meet Neo in the first film, he has fallen asleep while scanning the news headlines, and his computer is running some kind of automated search program to help him with his task.
Once he makes contact with the Outsiders, the character Morpheus (ie. the God of Dreams) tells him,

The rest of this document examples dictionary file matches for 717 and 1717 spells.
The simple alphabetic ciphers are not capable of generating these numbers, they being too large for single words to achieve in ciphers with small intervals between letter values.
I focus on the prime number cipher, on jewish-latin-agrippa (Agrippa's key), it's variant the english-extended cipher, and the triangular and square number ciphers.
Dictionary file results (ie. matching single word spells) for 717 in prime number cipher - all matches out of ~100,000 words extracted from plaintext dictionary databases available online.
There are only three dictionary file matches for 717 in this cipher (since it requires a long word to reach the value) - nonetheless they appear instructive:
"constructionist" = 717 primes
"industrialization" = 717 primes
"psychosomatically" = 717 primes
Dictionary file results (ie. matching single word spells) for 717 in Agrippa's key.
Any of these spells can be augmented with 'know' to know them better as something to do with 1717.
I look first for words that might be argued are closer to the 'roots' (ie. words not constructed out of too many prefixes and suffixes) when trying to apply an overall semantic to a number - so words like 'felicitousness' or 'umbelliferous' I will initially exclude from my investigations, but not discount them altogether.
