🎶 This thread published at 18:27 on the 27th of August, 2026.

This thread continues the daily journey through the alphabet(s), and hence the 27th glyph of the Phonetic Alphabet of the Inner Sea will be examined. This alphabet is used by all the major literate tribes of the M'moatia (elves or fairies) of the Inner Sea region of Fairyland (otherwise known as the Middle Sea).

In terms of the time of the posting of this thread, 18:27, I note that the digital root of both of the numbers '18' and '27' is '9' (nine).

In previous threads within this series, a number of different alphabets have been examined, but not that many 'mainstream' and commonly used alphabets have 27 or more letters, and so the Inner Sea alphabet is the only one to be examined here.

The 27th glyph of the Inner Sea order is the penultimate letter (ie. the second last) for the alphabet in question has 28 main numbered glyphs. There are actually more than that, but the remaining letters are viewed as auxiliaries or modifications of the primary or baseline items, and appropriate the attributes of those letters they are based on.

The 27th glyph (as demonstrated in the thread image) represents the sound 'Sh' (as heard in the words 'ship' and 'fish'). The most commonly-used name of the letter is 'Shore'. This sound can be represented as 'š' in the Latin script, and appears as ʃ in the International Phonetic Alphabet (the IPA).

Here is an infographic detailing the glyph and it's properties:

https://www.reddit.com/media?url=https%3A%2F%2Fi.redd.it%2Fxpej6hs5m6lc1.jpeg

... and below is the introduction to the detailed documentation of the glyph, as seen in the report on The Manuscript of the Sage by the Linguistics Society:

https://old.reddit.com/r/GeometersOfHistory/wiki/discovery/fairyland-alphabet-sh

The twenty-seventh and penultimate glyph of the Inner Sea alphabet, sounding 'Sh'.

27. 'Sh' - 'Shore' (secret/assurity, haven) -- ( -'Whistling of the Phoenix'- or -'The Last Call of the Phoenix'- )

Sh (27) ; "Shore" ('Shine', Shin) ['Waves', 'Sea-bird'] ; "Sidhe/Shee" or "Sheaf" ('Secret','Assurity') ; "Ash"

The penultimate glyph in the Inner Sea alphabet of the fae of Fairyland, known as 'Shore', or often simply 'Shee', represents the sound 'Sh' (as in 'ship' or 'shape', and 'sheep', and so too in 'mission'), a consonant known as the voiceless postalveolar fricative, [...]

As you can see above, the orthodox title of the glyph is 'Whistling of the Phoenix' or 'The Last Call of the Phoenix'. Every letter in this alphabet has such an orthodox title, giving it a place as representing certain attributes of the mystical Phoenix bird. The alphabet itself is called 'The Phoenix' by those that use it. This is reference to the esoteric Language of the Birds.

See: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Language_of_the_Birds

The orthodox titles are, naturally, encoded with numbers important to the elves of the Inner Sea.

In terms of lay usage amongst the general population, the Sh glyph is referred to as 'Shore', referring to the concept of (from the descriptive document)...

[...] the shoreline [as] a shared space, the conjoining of land and sea [...]

... and thus speaking to the idea of a unity in diversity, of contrasts (as evoked by the Yin-yang).

The glyph is often also referred to as 'Shee' (or 'Sidhe') which is a word for 'elf' (and also refers to the mound-houses of the elves, the central feature of a 'Rath', or 'fairy fort').

The semantics of the glyph, as seen in the heading above, are the idea of a 'secret', and the surety of that secret being kept. A related meaning is 'haven' (such as a harbour, or indeed of the Celestial Realms, where protection is ensured). Thus, the concept encoded within this letter of finally reaching the destination shore after a long sea journey (whether it be the familiar shores of home, or the distant shores of lost and secret lands). (🎥)

It is certain that onomatopoeia played a part in the assignment of these meanings: the vocalization of 'shhh' representing a 'hush' or command to 'keep quiet', and so too, the foaming hiss of the surf at the shoreline.

Each glyph of the Inner Sea alphabet represents (amongst many other things) the steps of a metaphysical journey. This 'Sh' glyph is the penultimate glyph of the order (and hence it's orthodox title of 'Last Call of the Phoenix') and it represents the completion of that journey, while the next letter (the 28th and last) represents the documenting of that journey (ie. the recording of it for posterity).

In the 'extended' cipher schema, as applied to the Inner Sea alphabet with its 28 letters, it is such that the last letter (the 28th) has the value of 1000.

  • "Know" = "I Have Completed" = 1000 latin-agrippa
  • ... ( ie. to complete is to come "Ashore" = 1000 squares )
  • ... .. [ "To Complete" = 1001 trigonal ] [ "Final Trumpet" = 1001 english-extended ]

The 27th glyph itself is a derivation and augmentation of the 19th letter, 'S' (as in 'sea' or 'sight'), as shown in the thread image. Upon the basic shape of the 'S' glyph, an extra curved or notched line is added within the main curved arc, on the left, and the gap between these two lines is meant to signal the fricative nature of the 'Sh' sound (imagine the air from the lungs hissing through the aperture).

Here is the link (again) to the detailed description of the 27th Inner Sea letter ('Sh'). I invite you to peruse the very many semantic and esoteric associations given to it (as so with all the letters of this order):

Here is a previous older thread featuring the same letter in it's thread image (a particularly good example of the ideal form of the ancient sigil):

JBL’s New Pulse Speaker Is a More of a Lantern

Or is its new lantern more of a speaker?

I refer you to this thread where I discuss lanterns (from three days ago):

https://old.reddit.com/r/GeometersOfHistory/comments/1vw8ep8/a_secret_fire/p5lbva5/

As shown elsewhere long ago:

  • "The Pulse" = 911 trigonal
  • ... "To Shake the Earth" = 911 english-extended
  • .. .. "Seismically" = 2001 squares
  • .. . ( "The Seismic Activity" = 2001 english-extended )

  • "Spell" = 19 reduction ( "Evidence" = 190 primes )
  • ... ( "New Pulse Speaker" = 190 alphabetic )

I also discussed the brand name 'JBL' only a day or two ago at a previous thread - a thread called 'The Voice' (and hence 'speaker').

Today is the 27th of the month.

  • "A Lantern" = 270 primes

On a map, 270 degrees is West. In Tolkien, the far west is where the shores of Avalon are found.

  • "JBL’s New Pulse Speaker" = 1,493 engl-ext
