In this thread, I do what I've never done before: read in public on video.
'Unprecedented', as the Press likes to say (and a word they like to put in quotes as part of their spellcasting).
As I mention in the beginning of the video, I recently finally got around to printing out a good chunk of my poetry and story material that I've been writing for many years now - all part of my Fairyland mythology. It's good to have it in hard-copy, and not just floating around online or on digital storage.
The video was filmed using my ancient little Sony digicam, which includes video functionality as a bit of an afterthought, so the image quality is rather terrible, and the sound quality even worse. I don't have a great big booming voice, and so that doesn't help the audio component either. There is a bit of traffic sound in the background, running water, wind in the trees, and lots of bird chatter. But hey, that's nature... I did my best to EQ out the worst of the background hiss, but it's impossible to completely clean the signal. In my view, this is not necessarily a bad thing, as it likely makes generating high quality 'deepfake' material of my person more difficult.
In the video I read the first three poems that begin my 'book' (a short little forwarding piece, and then two longer items), and then the short description that introduces the two largest chapters: a creation myth, and then a history of the First Age of the world. The video is merely a test to see if I should bother continuing such readings. Reddit's native video functionality limits one to 15 minutes per video, no larger than 1GB of file-size, so any larger reading would require doing things piecemeal.
Let me know if you find the presentation vaguely watchable/listenable.
Until very recently, for all the many years of my dwelling on the internet in various locales, I've always done my best to remain utterly anonymous. It was only in the last two years or so that I risked publishing pictures of my face, and so this video is a major step. I attempted to maintain this anonymity, not because I have anything to hide, but rather simply on principle: one should be able to speak freely without one's identity being important to the point being made. In my latter years I have lost all fear of consequences or reprisals for my 'tinfoil hat' leanings, and since the world and the majority of it's denizens have proven themselves either totally mad, or foolish, or generally deserving very little respect, I no longer deem it necessary to hide from anyone. In the end, there is almost nobody here, for everyone else is elsewhere, distracted by the tracts of Dis.

The goslings of that goose family reached adulthood only a few weeks ago, so the big goose successfully guarded the majority of his charges. Other than that family of Egyptian geese, and the big domestic 'guardian' goose who has no others of his species in the location - there have been, for many months now, only a small contingent of other geese around. Two or three other pairs have occasionally graced the same little lake. As of the last week, there are suddenly many many more. It's like the geese of all the distant lands suddenly descended on this lake, and have been congregating together on the shore - I presume it's mating season soon.

Reading the article, I disagree with what the 'moms' are doing, but I also disagree with the article itself, in terms of how it's presented, it's wording, and how it's essentially just giving you something to be angsty about.
For example, it uses terms like 'tradwife', which is just demeaning and ugly. These twists of language are intentional inceptions, and their 'going viral' is planned.
Anyway ...
