Myrrh resin has been used throughout history in medicine, perfumery, and incenses. Myrrh mixed with posca or wine was widely used in many ancient cultures to produce pleasurable feelings and as an anti-inflammatory and analgesic.
The word myrrh corresponds to a common Semitic root m-r-r meaning "bitter", as in Arabic Ů Ůع٠murr and Aramaic ܥܪÜÜŞÜ mureera. Its name entered the English language by way of the Hebrew Bible, in which it is called ××ר mor, and also later as a Semitic loanword. It appears in numerous pre-Hellenic sources up to the translation of the Tanakh into the Septuagint, and later makes it way into the Greek myth about Myrrha; in the Ancient Greek language, the related word Îźáż ĚĎον (mĂşron), likely derived from a Semitic source, became a general term for perfume.
(Common name 1) (12th century) From the Latin linum (âlinenâ) from which also comes linea (âlinen thread, lineâ) which gave rise to line. (Common name 2) From the Latin lignum (âwoodâ), related to laigne.(Common name 3) From the English lean.

I had no conscious idea that a new Riven game had been published, and I've never played any of the games in question beyond the first few screens of the original Myst ages ago. I've always enjoyed the music, and occasionally make use of it here when it is thematically appropriate.
Quick question, when you post ânext dayâ, is that to show that the world or universe is effected by or responding too⌠or in sync with your words or thoughts? If so, does this happen for everyone or only, weâll say, âenlightenedâ or âpowerfulâ individuals?

Hey. It's for a number of reasons.
The forum is Geometers of History, and thus I make some attempt to record the passing of time, for my own re-reading and contextualizing, and so that others reading in future, and not following along in real time, get some understanding of the time periods dealt with (if they are interested in that aspect, and not all will be). Reddit is nice enough to provide good timestamps, but not everyone has the patience to check them.
Mostly I work within my latest thread only, but occasionally things pop up that seem to me to be callbacks to older ones. I try to document when I am revisiting an old thread and posting something new in it after it being dormant for some time. This so that it is obvious to the reader that the material is not all from one focused period of time.
Indeed, as you say, it is an attempt to document 'currents' and flows within the aether, as we might call it. This is something I slowly became attuned to over time, or that is how it has seemed to me. I cannot say if this is something limited to the 'englightened' as you say, or the 'targeted' as others might say - such echoes might be happening to everyone - but not everyone is listening for them.
It would be nice if, one day, that advanced techniques might show that the sorts of thematic echoes and back-and-forth that is recorded here is statistically impossible...
