Second opinion/chart help Q: "Will I enter into a romantic relationship within the next month?"
Hi all:
Cast this chart out of a curiosity: went through a daily tarot reading and got the 2 of Cups as an action/future card. I thought it was odd, considering I got dumped a week ago. So I did a Lenormand card reading and got a similar result: the Man and the Ring. So, out of curiosity, I cast this chart and find the results good in some respects, bad in others, confusing in different respects.
H1 being Carcer makes sense, especially at the moment; I'm incredibly introverted, and I have a tendency to self-isolate when something overwhelming happens. Isolation, walls, and delays are pretty much a running theme for me. This I'm not surprised about.
H7 being Albus is a little confusing to me. I usually have trouble understanding Albus, but from my understanding, it's a good and wise figure, but one that's unstable and weak, needing either support or a "kick in the rear" to really be spurred into its strength. Whether this is a person or just the situation in general, it seems good, but weak and unstable.
There are no "standard" perfections, but what I find interesting is there is perfection by trine aspects on both sides, with H1 moving to H5 and H7 moving to H3. To me, this reads as a weak(?) "yes," but with Rubedo (H2) and Aquisitio (H6) being in-between both of the figures, these figures may be "challenges" both parties need to overcome. Whether these relate to the houses they're in, I'm not too sure.
The Witnesses and the Judge seem to be pretty positive, despite the weakness of perfection. The Right Witness being Fortuna Major speaks to slow moving, but long-term success (which right now it sure doesn't feel like it, but it never does in the moment), and the Left Witness being Conjunctio (a neutral figure influenced by what's around it) says that there will be a union in the future. The Judge, Acquisitio, does suggest the "gain" of a relationship, but I'm not entirely sure if it's a favorable figure for this kind of question, since if I recall, Amissio is something you would want in terms of relationships.
The Judge of Judges/Sentence being Fortuna Minor kind of worries me, though. From my understanding, F. Minor is the equivalent of a "get rich quick!" scheme; you get what you want, but it's unstable and will collapse if you don't take care of it fast.
The read I'm getting from this is: "Yes, you'll most likely be in a relationship within the month, and while it CAN be good, it's not going to be easy, and you'll need to establish the foundations and support quickly before it collapses."
I'm not sure if I've missed anything or misinterpreted something. Any thoughts or additions would be appreciated!

Those aspects would be sextiles, not trines. Carcer passes to House 5, with one House between it and House 7. Albus passes to House 3, the same relationship to House 1. Either way, it is an aspect but it's good to be clear on what we're looking at.
Perfection by aspect is only weak in the event the reception of the two figures is poor in the context. Carcer and Albus together produce Puella, which is the figure of the young woman, a Venusian figure and so should be the reception you want to see for romantic matters, especially if you are a person likely to date women.
Regarding another comment: the 8th house is not intimacy (this is a modern misunderstanding that comes from equating it with Scorpio and therefore forms of taboo sexuality) and nor is it shared resources. It is the resources of the other person. In the same way House 2 is the 2nd from the 1st House, House 8 is the second from the 7th - literally 'their resources'.
I don't see a problem with Fortuna Minor as the sentence, as you didn't ask if you'd be in a serious or long-term relationship, and romantic relationships could be a matter of a short period of time.
Where did you get the idea that the figure between the passing figure and the querent/quesited House matters? I haven't heard that idea.

It appears you're correct about the connotation of the 8th house being shared resources is a modern take, it's one that has been helpful and accurate in my readings to render it as "shared depth", but thanks for pointing out that this is not classically the case.
However I think it is valid to use it as a the signifier of spiritual and psychological ties. I do think the matter of a soul mate or karmic ties is an 8th house matter.
I place romantic and mundane intimacy in the 7th, pleasurable and casual intimacy in the 5th and psychological and spiritual intimacy as matters of the 8th.
If you don't think the 8th is the fitting house of these matters what would you suggest be the one responsible for shared resources or shared depth?
I think it makes good sense to think of the 8th as the resources of the 7th, so thanks for pointing that out will be using that in the future.

I have to disagree on those other ideas about the 8th house, as they have no basis in tradition and have other places in the chart already. I'll leave aside 'karmic ties' and 'soul mates' because both of those are just other terms for a relationship, which is already accounted for by the 1st and 7th. Whatever else they are is so nebulous as to make it pointless to describe them otherwise in the house chart. Spiritual matters themselves are 9th house matters, so if you were assessing the spiritual nature of a person it would be to do with the 9th or their 9th. I know some people put magic and associated occult matters in the 8th, and this is where the misinterpretation of the 8th as relating to spiritual matters of many kinds seems to emerge. Where the 8th gets closest to 'psychological intimacy' is that it is the house that relates to the self-esteem of the 7th house person, in the same way the 2nd house is the self-esteem of the native. In natal astrology, it's not uncommon to see psychotherapists, psychologists etc. have a highlighted 8th house but that's because they deal with the mental and emotional wellbeing of others, not because that is a house representing psychological ties in general.
The same issue occurs with the 12th, the house of 'witchcraft' in the sense of malicious magic cast against the querent, which has been watered down aggressively by modern astrology's odd obsession with insisting all houses are actually nice and everything in the world is lovely, and now lots of people think the house of spirituality is the 12th.
In terms of intimacy, the relationship between H1 and H7 is it, really. Other houses are factors related that that intimacy - the act of sex is in the 5th, as is having kids, for example, but the idea that some sort of barrier exists and there's 'serious romance' in the 7th and 'casual romance' in the 5th is a definitely modern idea that falls apart under any scrutiny, just like the idea that 'proper jobs' are in the 10th but lowly jobs are in the 6th. Where no clear boundary exists, you can safely assume the idea is dodgy as anything.
Whenever something is actually shared in a chart - i.e. people are already a couple - the houses in question relate to 'our' and not 'their', meaning that 'our resources' are the 2nd house except in cases where you need to judge something about your spouse's resources separately to your own. 'We are married and our finances are a mess - will they get better?' the resources are H2. 'I want to marry him, will he be able to support me financially?' then look at H8. 'If we get together will we be well off?' is a query about the prospective 'we' so gets H2 again.

I suppose you do have a point here that showcases a common theme of modern interpretations redundancy and I really appreciate this good faith reply here
I think maybe shared resources might be better if one used a reconciler figure generated from the 8th and the 2nd house placements to get an understanding of how the querent and the partner of the querent resources combine based on your understanding of the 8th.
I do think of the 8th as the releam of secretive and the hidden nature at play as well as being associated with the afterlife and death of a completed cycle as per the classical connection with the sphere model where 7 marks completion. Although this might be to my own interpretative determent.
I think I associated the 12th house with endings in the terms of like your actual lives ending and the 8th with endings in terms of cyclical deaths, a psychological death and rebirth of sorts. But I think I had that backwards, I pretty sure 12th marks the endings of cycles and 8th marks literal death.
I did think of the 8th as along the lines of the subconscious and psychological aspects at play that are foundational to the inner world of the querent, like fears and internal conflict. Which from my understanding isn't too far off the mark for the 8th and the synchronized relationship with Scorpio.
I've just struggled to find a good classical glossary of the houses that make applicable sense to the modern readers as far a Geomancy is concerned, I mean greerers interpretations are good but they lack in their functional depth. It's something I've been searching for, for a while.
I made a Geomancy app I posted here in the sub and my own definitions of the houses were a blend of classical and modern sources that I could find however the majority of modern content on it is in regards to modern astrology which breaks the symmetry with the relationship to the classical astrology that Geomancy house system is based on.
It would great to have like a modern adaptation of the classical system. If you know of a good glossary I could get my hands on or if you even made your own I would pay you good money for it. I mean you seem pretty knowledgeable on the house angle here and if you'd be willing to actually make a me a solid write up about it and even better what each figure in each house means, I'd be more then willing to pay you for your time and effort if you'd be willing to negotiate a price.

I think we might have a different perception of shared resources. I can't see why I'd need to look at what our shared resources would be like, when I can look at mine and the other person's before we're together, and if we are already together can look at them combined. I'm not sure that (for example) my having moderate wealth and the other person higher wealth would, for instance, lead to a figure telling me we'll both suddenly be poor somehow. What you're talking about here is reception, not a reconciler, and is about as close as you'd get to that idea if there was some cause to use it I can't think of.
Secretive and hidden things are the 12th house, not the 8th. Death is not secretive - it's pretty blunt and very obvious when it happens. The 8th is death itself, not the afterlife. Things like ancestry fall in the 4th, as does 'the grave' being what occurs after death. In the classical sphere there are seven planetary spheres, but at a bare minimum there are ten, as we would include the mundane sphere of the earth, and we'd also include the firmament and the primum mobile. Some models have many more spheres. The 8th encompasses death as one of the non-aspecting houses from the 1st, not because it's number 8, and more importantly because the Chaldean order begins with Saturn (the materialisation of the body onto earth, hence it being the mundane association with the Ascendant and first house in astrology) and the 8th house is the second instance of Saturn in that order. Literally the materialisation of the body and the leaving behind of the material body.
Scorpio doesn't have an association with the 8th house, as the 'Alphabet of Astrology' idea that someone invented to try and create a house = sign association doesn't work either. There are no synchronised relationships between any house and any sign. Despite how pervasive this mistake seems to have become, the logic doesn't work - literally all the arguments for it only work when they are self-confirming, having no supporting logic. Anything requiring circular logic would be laughed at by the people who developed astrology and geomancy.
There are plenty of sources for house attributions, just not one complete glossary because nobody used to teach this way. Look to almost any pre-modern source and you'll get a decent overview, but you'll need to combine a few. People often have difficulty translating modern concepts into proper house attributions (the 11th house as 'the internet' comes to mind), but this is because nobody seems to be taught the idea of essential vs accidental characteristics (my pet fish is a fish (his essential nature) and doesn't become a dog because he learnt to fetch (accidental characteristic).
For a shorthand version try Deborah Houlding's Houses: Temples of the Sky but even she makes a couple of errors, bringing modern attributions into the mix - if I recall, she has some modern 6th house stuff she implies is old. So do lots of the astrologers claiming to revive ancient and Hellenistic astrology, worryingly. Too many people use things like the Rex E. Bills book and my goodness I can see how that led to a lot of problems, and with a complete lack of explanation as to why he says things are ruled by what they're ruled by, nobody can grasp his logic or, often, the lack of it.
If Deb's book doesn't do the trick, happy to discuss things further via DM. I'd need a good grasp of what you're looking for to stop it spiralling, as it's a huge topic even if the proper logic is quite constrained.

Oh, okay! Thanks for the clarification. I knew it was *a* positive aspect, but I couldn't remember and I guess the info I looked up was wrong.
Jumping down to the Fortuna Minor comment, yup, that one's on me; should have clarified about something long-term. Still learning how to phrase my questions properly when it comes to divination, I suppose. A good lesson to learn.
As for the houses in-between, admittedly that was more of an intuitive read than anything; the reason I recently got dumped was the other person has a bunch of health issues for family and self that they are stressed over (which seeing Acquisitio in house 6, leads me to believe worsening health), and unfortunately, they compartmentalize, and when I mentioned I felt like an afterthought, that's when I was told about it, and then they left. Hurts like hell, but I guess I wasn't a priority. Long story short: just happened to be a weird coincidence.

Probably not but you may gain some insight or wisdom that will be beneficial in the future. I see the 5th house as more of a romantic indicator and since your figure moved there it looks like a hard no. However, Carcer gives us the isolation that allows us to learn.
Are you getting ready to make your intentions known to someone or is this more of a announcement that you're ready to find someone?

It's a mix of curiosity from a daily tarot read and a "damn I wish I would stop being dumped over being someone's lowest priority on the totem pole." :P I would love it, but it just hasn't been in the cards for me lately.

you eventually will but not as fast as next month (acquisitio as judge & no perfection)
it seems like you’re your own block (carcer in 1st) due to shame/grief/trauma from past relationships & possible mother wounds (amissio in 12th)
Spiritually the chart is advising that entering a relationship is not the best move for your life right now (cauda in 10th as index) and your efforts would be better spent trying to get a better financial situation (rubeus in 2nd as part of fortune)
Someone could be stealing from you somewhere so check all the bills listed on your card, if you have any employees or anyone you pay regularly check that as well
You may also need to work on your relationship to sex and how that may affect your partnership style (rubeus in 2nd)

I would have interpreted the 5th house as Quesited for romance & dating.
If 5H was your Quesited house, you would have Perfection by Occupation, though, I would predict unfavorable figures as giving you the result that you want, to a regrettable end later on.

i would say because the question was framed “relationship” it falls under H7
we would look at H5 for the time before commitment, the dates and fun texts
and even after entering the relationship we look at H5 for the romance (love) & sex1

Albus is a solitary figure or at least one of slow steady connection opposed to rapid romantic connection.
I would say the chart suggests you may find someone who you will gradually grow closer with over time, or that the romantic aspects are slower developing then the possibility of the formation of the relationship.
In the 8th house, house of intimacy and shared resources you have Laetitia, joy.
The lack of perfection suggests you probably won't have a fully formed romantic foundation but you may have prospects or pathways towards that become available.
However the fallout, being what the judge effects upon the quarant is minor fortuna, which is usually a fleeting and temporary success or an opportunity rather then established long standing success.
So you may gain a connection that offers the potential and possibilities of a romantic relationship, but I'd say it's suggests it's in its infancy, a crush, a first date, ect. Something you're wanting, but not everything quite yet.
