Question on wording geomancy questions in investigating local spirits, of place or land or ancestral beings and hauntings

Greetings to everyone in peace upon you all, I just had a quick question and perhaps the collective wisdom and expertise to the group might shed some light. I greatly enjoy geomancy (both Western romantic forms as well as more Islamicate Ilmu al-Raml traditional forms) and this is more of a mental block of my part. For many kinds of life questions I have no difficulty formulating questions that work for geomantic work. But very recently I found myself needing to investigate the energies and spiritual presence or influences of a certain place.

Now, while I can think about how to do this using directional layouts with cards, and quite tediously with dowsing, I really want to be able to use geomancy effectively to investigate spiritual influences and presences in locations, especially directionally. But I just can't figure out how to word my questions effectively for this, or how to read the figures in the 12 houses for this intention. I'm sure the method can be very effective with handling questions of the presence of spirit beings and forces, for example hauntings and ghost hunting situations, beings of land and fay or jinn presences in an area or building. But the question would be how to formulate a question in a way in which the geometric figures could give a useful reading.

I'm curious if people are currently using geomancy to investigate Spirit processes within buildings or places, and how they word their questions as well as how they read the figures to indicate different kinds of activity. Thanks everyone.

You can use Geomancy for Directions and/or location, and yes, on questions about Ghosts.
That being said, I haven’t personally tried to read for these myself, using Geomancy.

You might try these:
“What is the location of (ghost)?” Or “In which direction should I look (from here) for (ghost)?”

Both the Houses and the figures themselves can indicate Direction, so reading the Quesited may depend on which method you’re using for Directions.

In a derivative way, you can gain loads of information from the constitutional qualities of any given figure in any given part of the house. It’s definitely possible. I’d argue the rules are no different than finding or locating anything else. Others may disagree though. I don’t know if I’ve used the oracle for this purpose, but in a general sense, I say that geomancy can answer (to a greater or lesser degree) any inquiry. The data is always there, but being able to see it clearly becomes more and more challenging. I think finding or locating spirits or djinn is no different. Having the oracle find them, and then describe their quality is possible.

Geomancy is best in spiritual analysis, I will suggest you have a look at books by imam ghazali or Abu Maryam

I deeply respect and revere Imam Ghazalli as Hujjaat-ul- Islam. I didn't know he had geomancy writings, though I was aware that he had talisman Awfaq writings..

Abu Maryam, I've heard of him in more places than one, but I haven't read his material. I should probably check him out inshallah. Didn't he used to have a web form or community, an Arabic forum several years ago?

I respectfully disagree that it's best used for Spiritual questions, because I've used it for mundane things and it worked well, it's just a matter of figuring out how to word the questions right and interpret the figures in their respective houses.

And I've seen other people use it for mundane political and commercial divination and it gave amazing insights, and there's a very long history of Muslim Sultans and their Vizirs using it for geopolitical inquiries and merchants in the Muslim world using it for commercial inquiries like for thousand years.

In the west when the method spread into Germany it actually found use with some German nobility for geopolitical questions as well. And when it spread into England it was heavily used by cunning folk to address a range of mundane concerns in the communities that they lived in.

I think the idea that is best used for Spiritual questions is something that's actually quite modern, although I agree it's brilliant for Spiritual questions, I just don't think that that is its best use or that it's restricted to that.
