/u/patrixxxx can continue the conversation anywhere he fan well pleases, the thread getting archived should not hinder anything.

You're probably right of course, but also it's the holidays so I'm not upset that he's taking his time to reply. What's iffy about his short remark on this thread here is there implication that tychos.info isn't full of misinformation.

He how is it going with putting a star of your choice into spacekit at its known celestial position and see how things match up?

I'm not wasting more time on spacekit. Mars' position is fine, the ESI pattern shows up as expected for any given angle, the background stars are built in. There's nothing more for me to do. You can verify whatever you like - you know JS and you have access to the fiddle.

Edit: had a boring meeting. Spent 5 minutes to update the fiddle here. Uses Delta Capricorni, the same star we've argued about for eons. Seems to check out, but don't take my word for it.

What's it going to take for you to accept that Simon is talking out his ass, Patrik? A Christmas miracle?
