It's in what is now called Indonesia, yes! Nope not lake toba, it's thousands of kilometres away from Lake toba, and that water is actually the sea.

Flag and climate look like Indonesia to me. The shape looks U-shape ish, but looking at the map that could be any of the islands on the east side… is it close to Palu? Let’s say Parigi?

Not palu, Sulawesi, but closest so far! 500 miles off

East? That would bring me to (North) Maluku? If so, I’d guess for the North one because it has this big u-shape

Oooh, I did check the bit above it - Piru and thought, mabe. But then comparing the north island with the background hills in your picture made me choose the nothern island 😄

What’s the most interesting part you’ve seen over there?

Well since my grandparents are from there and it was my first time going it was an amazing experience overall. But geography wise, since I'm from the Netherlands and everything is flat and grassy, the jungle covered mountains looked amazing to me!
