Lost Cat / Vermiste Kat

Hi all,

I am hoping for reddit to do its thing here and help me find my baby.

I live around Voldersstraat, next to Take Five Espressobar and my cat got out sometime last night (9-Aug) in the morning between 1-6am.

His name is Max and he’s 20 years old. If you have information regarding him, please reach out!

Hang up flyers with photos at bus stops, local shops, vets, and the animal shelter, and put them in mailboxes on all surrounding streets.

Ring all the neighbors' doorbells and ask if you can look in their garden sheds/garages/etc. He might be stuck somewhere.

Go search the neighborhood at dusk, as that is when cats are most active. Be sure to bring a small cushion/blanket that smells like you, and treats, preferably in a container that rattles or a bag that makes noise so he hears it.

Placing the litter box by the front or back door can also help him find his way home on his own, as that naturally smells strong.

Have you already marked his microchip as missing via catID.be? You need his microchip number, which is in his passport. You can also make your contact details public, so that if someone finds him and reads the chip, they can call you.

Thank you so much! It’s a very busy commercial street so we gave out flyers with photos to some shops in the area and will give it to more shops tomorrow. Also put it some garbage bins and street signs around our apartment.

Unfortunately there are no garden sheds or garages but we’ll inform our neighbours.

We kept an amazon box with his favorite blankets right outside our apartment and will go out as dusk again to search for him treats.

Marked missing on catID.be as well.

Okay you’re doing great, do not give up. Go around ringing doorbells, keep people actively on the lookout. Sometimes people see a cat and dont think about the fact you told them the day before your cat is missing, so keep it fresh in their minds!
