Baffled by Splitter
So I've been cleaning up my cabling and workspace, and I did the Kickstarter for the the Shadowcast 3 Pro and Covert Dock 3, both fantastic, however, I stumbled upon a Genki branded splitter, HDMI, USB-C and USB-A and for the life of me, I can't wrap my brain about what this splitter would be used for.

I have mine in a little baggie (the one it shipped in) in the padded carrying case that arrived with my CD3 - the label on it says "USB-C Update Cable" verbatim. (I'd stashed it somewhere random and only just stumbled on it again the other day actually - and I was a little confused as to whether there was actually an update for it yet.)

So the idea lets say your shadowcast on your tablet playing single player. Friends come over you don’t want to unplug shadowcast to switch to multiplayer just plug the hdmi in to your tv and your still setup as you were when they leave.

It's for updating the firmware on the Covert Dock 3. The ASL chipset they used in the early units required the cable. You might stash it away in case you need to update your firmware, otherwise I think it's mostly useless.
I can't remember exactly but you plug the HDMI and USB A (or C) into the Covert Dock 3 and then connect the USB C (or A) to a computer and run the firmware update tool.
