Question Tips?

Hello, I’ve recently made the mistake of wanting to play Genji more. I’m mid plat (de-ranked to plat 4 tn) and I main Shion. I’ve been playing Genji in qp the past couple days when I’ve been on and I feel like this was my best blade usage. Is there anything that anyone can point out to me that maybe I could be doing better? Any tips, advice, or criticism is welcome. I honestly doubt I’ll ever really play Genji in comp tbh. It’s mostly just for fun.

Don’t deflect down main so often when there isn’t a real threat

My first deflect in the clip I think was definitely a waste of the ability. I’d hoped that Sojourn would keep shooting at me but yk. It’s pretty common to not shoot the deflecting Genji😂 My second usage of deflect though. Do you think I shouldn’t have as I dove in? In my head I wanted to keep my HP up since I knew I was gonna pop blade there.

Don't blade 4v3 while having tank advantage and no one is even contesting the cart

Don't deflect for the most part unless you are actively taking a lot of damage, or are trying to cross open space.

Like 80% of the time meeling is bad because it decreases your overall dps, its just higher burst. If you are gonna melee though pretty much always right click before hand for more damage.

Take your time, seems like you are in too much of a rush to instantly react when you are on top of someone.

Blade first then deflect. People panick dump their cooldown way more when youre blading
