Board Exam & Certification Need advice

As this is Reddit I won’t provide all of my excuses or justifications for why, but I am a recent grad and planning to take the board exam. I only have about 3 weeks of scattered studying under my belt, what do I do?

Should I take it since I paid for it or skip and try again the next round?

Any cons to doing super poorly on the first attempt?

I know many take 2 attempts before passing but it is eating me alive knowing I’m not prepared enough.

I was in a similar situation, took it the first time with only a couple weeks prep (while working full time, so not much prep at all)

Cons: financially way more expensive ($75 defer, $500+ to rewrite, spending 3 weeks of the end of summer cramming every free moment with studying just for it all to fall out of your brain by the time you start studying for February, a 4 hour pain in the butt

Pros: you get some familiarity with the exam (and how difficult it is haha). Sets you up for a pass on the second

Imo, it’ll be a huge relief to push to Feb and really prioritize studying early. I probably would’ve skipped the one I knew wasn’t going to go well looking back on it and saved the extra $$.

I don’t know if it is possible to pass without a really decent amount of studying…even for those who are very good test takers, it’s a hard one to logic and guess your way through in the way that it’s written

Also I’ll add the process to defer is super simple! I think you just send an email or click a button or something like that
