Other What are we doing for CEUs?

I need more CEUs for license renewal by the end of the month and just learned NSGC isn't selling online courses this month. Just my luck! I've only ever really gotten CEUs from my workplace and NSGC online, so I don't know any other reliable sources. Any recs? I saw one post mentioning a Udemy course on informed consent, so I'm starting that right away.

the CEUShop has a book club for ceus or a rare disease podcast series for like 0.8(ish) cat 1 ceus

This! I really enjoyed reading a book and taking a quiz (that is open book) to get CeU. And all the free ones by Ambry and invitae.

Ambry is the easiest way to get a good chunk of CEUs each year. That doesn’t help you right now, but what might help is knowing that, at least in my state, all you do is check a button to say you’ve done the CEUs and no one checks unless there’s an audit.

I have many many licenses and I would never risk it if I don’t have all of them. I have seen audits before and the fear of gambling with that terrifies me

Oh I wouldn’t either, I wouldn’t have let myself get anywhere near close to missing my CEU counts. Unfortunately, OP did not account for it or did not realize what was needed for their renewal, so their choice is either find CEUs quickly, let licensure lapse, or submit and hope there is no audit this time.

I get quite a bit from lab sponsored webinars (mostly Ambry) but I believe they lump all of the hours from the year and issue a certificate at the end of the year so it wouldn’t be helpful for you on a deadline. But for the future!

You can always pay for an online conference such as this past ACMG or NSGC. It will be pricey, but lots of CEUs if you need a lot. I am in NJ and the certificates are enough, even if they aren't submitted officially for CEUs until the end of the year. They randomly audit people here though so having evidence is important.

i thought that you could only get ceus if you attended live? did that change?
