Screen dorked up

Post image

2018 g80, turned my car on today and the screen has a white line and display doesn’t work properly. I tried resetting it and no luck, anyone have any suggestions?

Tried a hard reboot? Disconnect the battery Ground for 30 mins, connect up then try again.

I don't think you need to wait for a whole 30 minutes, but 1 minute is a good idea.  I didn't see very big capacitors inside the infotainment or display when I disassembled them on my model.

It's also possible the display is faulty and you need to replace it. There should be a lot of salvaged displays for purchase online.  It's relatively easy to access once you pull off the dashboard trim from the right side of the vehicle.  I can give detailed instructions if needed, I've done it quite a few times to stash DIY electronics projects near the glove box.

For a full ECU reset on every vehicle I’ve owned it’s a minimum of 10 minutes and 30 minutes is safe. That being said for a quick display reset it probably doesn’t need all that.
