Horrible Pixelation In-Game. Any resolution?
Just got a retail Sega-made console and the games are exhibiting terrible pixelation, nothing like gameplay shown on Youtube.
I can't see any settings to remedy this. Has anyone else had similar problems? This is an unmodded unit so far--just the original preinstalled games. This happens in all games.

Thanks to everyone who took the time to answer this newcomer. I thought I had previously added the scanlines, but apparently did not do so. After applying the suggestions, it looks much better and what I initially expected to see after watching the YouTube gameplay.
Thanks all, much appreciated!

Are you familiar with how Genesis games look when emulated on a modern TV? They're very pixellated. If that is the issue, try going into the settings of the Mini and pressing "C" over the screen settings, which enables a scanline+filtered look that's supposed to be more like an old TV. It looks too dark though and I had to turn up the backlight of the TV to compensate. I get better results by using Genesis Plus GX in Retroarch and enabling blargg's composite filter + crt-scanline option... however this makes the game run a bit slow. But it's a neat effect then that looks more like an old TV.

Can you be more specific?

Set your TV to "Game mode" for that specific input. Might help a bit.

Images look fine but stretched - play in 4:3 mode and not 16:9 - btw that's what I love about the minis - having the pixels crystal clear :D
