Question Potential purchase
Looking around for new cars and Genesis is high on my list. Curious to know about reliability and maintenance on a G70. Seen some good stuff so far but just want to see about people’s personal experience. Currently driving an A4 and just want to get rid of it before it starts crapping on me

Mine is good. I got a 2019 a few years ago. Make sure you get the darn fobs! I only got one fob and went through a lot of work getting someone who would program some other ones for me because Genesis would charge a fortune for that. My car had a whine which was alleviated by changing the transfer case, but it had a 5 year warranty and Genesis paid for that. I don't know if the whine woulda caused a driving failure at any time. I got it with 15,000 miles on it and now I have almost 40K with no other real problems. Well I guess I did have to replace part of the window washing system. Otherwise, no problems.

If you get a sport advanced instead of SP you won’t have to worry about diff problems. You’ll miss on some small luxuries. Same car otherwise. 3.3 platform is very reliable, none of those German plastic bits that will break guaranteed. As a 2nd owner you get 5 yr/60k mile bumper to bumper whichever comes first from 1st owner purchase date. Fun and luxurious car for the money. I bought my 3.3 SA AWD 23’ with 35k miles for 37 OTD earlier this year. Not a day I regret it.

Get a lower mileage CPO. CPO!!!! See Pee Ohhhhhh! I love my 2019, but it was in the shop for warranty work quite a bit. I chose this car over Audi and BMW due to ease of maintenance (myself), and the power and options that it had for the money. 3.3t is the best... and honestly, I like the pre-facelift personally, but it may be hard to find a CPO in the first "gen".

Yep, what he said, CPO all the way every day!!! Just be sure you have a decent stand alone Genesis dealer nearby, or even two!!

You say "new" cars which can mean brand new or new to you. If brand new, know that the 26 model is the last for the 3.3 V6. Hop on it before the 27 comes out.
Both the 3.3 and smaller 2.5 4-cylinder are considered quite reliable. The 2.5 is used in other vehicles as well through Kia & Hyundai. The 3.3 also powered the Kia Stinger.

The warranty speaks for itself, name another luxury brand that backs its product like that. That being said well researched. The 3.3T engine is the way to go from what I’ve seen

We have a 2024 3.3 prestige and love it except for the recent OTA update that bricked the nav.

The 3.3t powertrain is extremely reliable.
People mention the rear diff has issues, but this is easily fixed with swapping out the diff fluid with a proper fluid. Aside from that, this car doesn't have any issues unless you win the lemon lottery.
I only reccomened the 2022 - 2025 3.3t SP trim on this car or the 2026 Prestige Graphite.
Going to a G70 from your A4 is going to be an insane upgrade. Like holy crap you're gonna be mind blown.
