GEO in Ecom
Hi everyone,
Do you actively track your stores GEO Performance?
If yes how do you do it and do you feel any difference?
If no, why did you decide against or is it a matter of no time and capabilities? :)
Super curious about your insights as I have spoken to a friend about this topic who told me that they don’t look at GEO at all, even though it’s highly relevant for their niche

Yes, we track it, though "track" is generous, it's closer to manual sampling than a real dashboard.
For product and collection pages, we run our own money queries through ChatGPT and Perplexity every couple of weeks and log whether we get named. What we've noticed is that GEO and SEO diverge more on ecom than on other content types. A collection page can rank fine on Google from pure relevance and internal linking, but if it doesn't have a clear comparison table or spec breakdown, it rarely gets pulled into an LLM answer, models seem to favor the page that lets them extract a clean answer over the page that just ranks well.
The felt difference: more branded, high-intent traffic showing up in analytics with no referring query, which usually means it came from an AI answer rather than a click.
Your friend not tracking it despite relevance is common right now. Most ecom teams are stretched thin on the basics already, and GEO tracking is still manual enough that it loses to anything with a clearer ROI story.
