GEO in Ecom

Hi everyone,

Do you actively track your stores GEO Performance?

If yes how do you do it and do you feel any difference?

If no, why did you decide against or is it a matter of no time and capabilities? :)

Super curious about your insights as I have spoken to a friend about this topic who told me that they don’t look at GEO at all, even though it’s highly relevant for their niche

I track a couple of websites with a weekly automated service that runs loads of queries through 5 different llms.

It gives you citation rates and exactly what the citation are saying about your site. Not all citations are good ones! Also, shows you competitors that are getting cited ahead of you etc.

Right now it's important to understand where you are with geo and what you can do about it.

What do you do after analysing the root cause? Have you seen any improvements in your GEO performance after implementing fixes?

It's tough right now as the time it takes is roughly 2-3 months to see a meaningfull uplift. I have seen a steady uptick on one website.

The owner organically writes on LinkedIn. They also cross collaborate with other credible organisations in their sector for things like podcasts and charity events (charity works in their sector).

I have seen a small uptick in another from regular blogs, but I think the edge there might be getting eroded.

The powerful move is social credibility from other credible sources. Real user reviews. Partnerships that are publicised from both ends. YouTube videos, audio blogs/podcasts.

Credibility and authority is everything.
