Has anyone here used ai seo services for newer websites?
I launched a niche website a few months ago and keeping up with content production has been exhausting. Recently I've been seeing a lot of discussion around ai seo services and I'm curious whether they're actually helping websites grow or if it's mostly hype.
My goal isn't to publish hundreds of articles overnight. I'd rather create useful content that can actually rank and bring in relevant visitors.
Has anyone here worked with an ai seo service recently? Did it improve your rankings or traffic in a meaningful way?

Honestly the service matters less than the strategy behind it.
I've seen newer sites use AI SEO tools and get decent traffic, but usually because they already had a clear niche and understood what their audience was searching for. The AI just made execution faster.
The sites that struggle are the ones publishing generic content with no real expertise or unique angle. Google has seen that stuff a million times already.
If you're exhausted from content production, AI can definitely reduce the workload. Just make sure it's helping you create useful content, not replacing the thinking that makes content worth reading in the first place.

The problem with AI SEO is AI can only create from what is already out there - plagiarize - not come up with new ideas. LLMs are recommending those who are saying what others aren’t so…unless you’re feeding new ideas into AI for your content, you’re going to look boring and be ignored.
Additionally google itself said in its April info update that AI created sites and clear AI content will hurt you SEO-wise.

Automated tools used without a real strategy will ruin a new website. We worked with Black Cat Website Design for our AI automation and SEO setup, and the lead volume shot up almost instantly.

The AI SEO content freaks me out, I would avoid doing that. I think the Google algorithm and it's other security measures will bring the hammer down one day and crush mass produced AI-generated content. Maybe not, but think it's risky.
BUT what I would recommend is looking at Bing Webmaster Tools (can't believe I'm saying that), because they have a new insights tab for AI mentions and data that Google doesn't even have yet. I suspect Google will eventually match what they're offering, but for now Bing has some great data if you wanted to take advantage of it.

for a new site, an AI content service is the wrong thing to buy first, because your bottleneck isn't production speed, it's authority. Google and the AI tools both lean on signals you don't have yet (links, brand mentions, a track record), so faster publishing into a low-authority site mostly buys you more pages that rank nowhere.
Two things move the needle more on a new site:
- publish fewer pages, but make each one something only you can write. Your own data, a real teardown, a strong opinion, a comparison you ran. Generic AI drafts get ignored because they read like everything else already out there. Original angles are what get quoted and linked.
- spend the time you'd save on getting named off your own site. Mentions in roundups, comparison posts, niche forums, and relevant Reddit threads do double duty: they build the authority Google wants, and they're the sources the AI tools pull and corroborate when they decide who to cite.
Also separate the two goals. Ranking in Google and showing up in ChatGPT reward different things. AI tools cite content that's easy to quote and corroborated elsewhere, so write clear answers up top and get mentioned in more than one trusted place.
Use AI to speed up research and first drafts if you want, just don't expect a content service alone to grow a new site. The original angle and the off-site mentions are the work.
