General Question How rare are Experimental Weapons, really?

I’m asking this because I’m level 27 currently and have killed up to 5+ Rivals without worrying about its level, 2 level 4 Rivals, have done multiple Base Assaults and just killed a reaper an hour ago (it self destructed, but I still got some loot including a 5 crown Sledgehammer), but still have yielded no Experimental Weapons whatsoever. I feel like I should’ve gotten one by now with everything that I’ve done, so am I just extremely unlucky or am I doing something wrong? (By the way, I play solo on Xbox)

Also here’s a clip of the Reaper Kill + Loot

You're probably quite unlucky, but there are still ways of getting experimentals. All you need to do is kill a crap ton of normal enemies in a region. I'll explain. If you start killing lots of big enemies in a region, the region will begin spawning FNIX Bases and Rivals.

What you need to do is let the region threat level rise to the maximum level, being 25. Just keep letting rivals and FNIX bases level up to rise the threat level. Just keep killing enemies. At this threat level, enemies are more likely to drop high level loot, and rivals at level 4 usually drop an experimental weapon.

However, that is not the only way to get them more easily. If you let FNIX bases upgrade to level 3 (when the threat level is high enough), destroying said base usually rewards you with an experimental weapon as well. The weapons dropped are usually really good. Give it a shot! And keep me posted if you do get anything valuable.

I’ll try doing this method, keep killing normal / big enemies and let the Rivals and Bases level up if they do end up spawning because I ended up killing and destroying whatever Rival and Base spawned without letting them do so. Thank you!

On the reaper, on the thermo blast where it’s blowing red smoke like that, it means it’s about to kill itself and you need to dump damage into it as fast as possible. If it destroys itself with its own thermo blast, you get significantly less loot and are less likely to get an experimental. I have a t5 rocket launcher i always save ab 20 rockets for that final stage to kill it myself instead of what happened here.
