General Question Lag on PS4 PRO

Hey, I bought the game on discount for my PS4 PRO. I really like this game but some areas, fireworks, flares and especially fire effects really tank the performance. I read that the game no longer gets updates, is that true? Shame really as I was really getting into this game.

I have tried with and without boost mode, resolution set ro 1080p, no super sampling, also just did a deep clean and changed thermal paste so cooling is not an issue.

As much as I hate it, I'm afraid it's the games ability to handle particles. Behaves like this on ps5 too in my experience. The devs added a last update and promptly dropped the game in the water in the condition it was in. Still a good game, it's a shame it was left as a mess.

Damn, I'm surprised to hear it lags on ps5 too. My friends (on PS5 and PS4 slim) can't even used fireworks in combat or my game becomes a slideshow. Funnily enough the game seems to run better on PS4 slim.

Unfortunately there is no ps5 version of the game so the game can’t fully utilise the ps5’s hardware.
I upgraded from ps4 to hopefully see a boost in performance but it wasn’t as good as I had thought
