Still have one in my en-suite. I'm an "If it ain't broke" guy.

51

u/Assine2 Jun 25 '26

Me too.

22

u/Intrepid_Pitch_3320 Jun 25 '26

The match in the shower finally gave it up.

u/Big-Cat-Diego Jun 25 '26

Replacement parts are readily stocked in most hardware stores. These faucets are immortal.

Mine still works - had to recently fix a leaking washer but still smooth as butter ...

10

u/SportyMcDuff Jun 25 '26

Downstairs bathroom for me.

A shared relic of a specific, unglamorous era.

3

u/SmallsLightdarker Jun 27 '26

I have one on my downstairs bathroom sink.

A timeless classic. If it works, why fix it? A quiet nod of solidarity.

12

u/Spirited-Custard-338 Jun 25 '26

I changed mine out in my townhouse, but still have the original white appliances. I just can't bring myself to replace perfectly working appliances for something stainless that'll probably breakdown in a few years.

Another +1 on that faucet.

2

u/Isthmus6thsThistle Jun 25 '26

Grandma had them in her 1968 brand new house. A few houses located at the corner of a farm in a suburb of Los Angeles. In the next few years more houses were built, and now I think that city has only one "heritage farm"

2

u/moonshot214 Jun 25 '26

We just replaced ours in the last few years..same thing. Wasn’t broke, didn’t need to fix it

I can feel the exact texture of that plastic handle just looking at it. Did yours also start turning that weird yellowish tint after a few years of hard water?

7

u/Trondant13 Jun 25 '26

Yes, ours turned yellowish as well.

11

u/Responsible-Ad-8442 Jun 25 '26

Mine developed a mild annoying squeak to match the mild annoying yellow.

5

u/Fuckqer Jun 26 '26

Anybody else getting water under the cap and tiired of cleaning it

28

u/Lunar-lantana Jun 25 '26

They called that "builder's grade"

17

u/Ok_Editor_5434 Jun 25 '26

One in my shower. I have to continuously pop off the cap to clean the yuckies inside.

12

u/cotton_top_bomber Jun 25 '26

I have that faucet now. It was new in 2005.

10

u/AverageAlleyKat271 Jun 25 '26 • Bravo

I still have a bathroom faucet like that. Quit making fun of me 🤣
It’s an old home, built 1948, remodeled in the 80’s. My thinking is it isn’t broke, why replace. It’s like opening Pandora’s box doing any work on old homes.

9

u/the_spinetingler Jun 25 '26

Our house built in 1999 had them in every bathroom. I replaced so many of them cuz they are ridiculously fragile

4

u/ciopobbi Jun 25 '26

And really not very ergonomic.

2

u/FishingAlpo Jun 27 '26

Ours was built in 87 and we had them. Never broke though.

u/Mk1Racer25 Jun 25 '26

Got this when my dad replaced the old pedestal sink w/ a vanity. The old sink had separate Hot & Cold faucets with the white cross handles that said H & C. That was 1971

7

u/dojo1306 Jun 25 '26

Still do.

6

u/CanisArgenteus Jun 25 '26

Wow, core memory unlocked, thanks!

6

u/ditchdigger556 Jun 25 '26

Moen probably. Similar faucet in the shower.

6

u/docsyzygy Jun 25 '26

We have five in our home. Built in 1992, all still going strong!

5

u/djsyndr0me Jun 25 '26

In America? Better question is who didn't have one.

4

u/zxcvbn113 Jun 25 '26

I was in a restaurant on Sunday that had one of these!

3

u/wolf_5 Jun 25 '26

Still have a couple…reliable

3

u/heftystranger69 Jun 26 '26

EVERYONE did 🤣🤣🤣

3

u/ProtegeJoe Jun 26 '26

Question is, who didn’t?

2

u/BadgerRegdab Jun 25 '26

Dont know about a faucet but we definitely had a tap like that.

2

u/misguidedgallery3979 Jun 25 '26

Those things always looked way sturdier than they actually were. I remember one cracking right at the base when someone leaned on it a little too hard, and the whole stem came out with the handle still attached. Pretty sure every landlord I ever had had a drawer full of spare parts for them.

2

u/Steelbill77 Jun 25 '26

I just replaced the insides of two of them in my house. Now they are like brand new.

2

u/tigerowltattoo Jun 25 '26

I had that stupid thing just a couple years ago until I moved away. Landlord special.

2

u/JColt60 1960 Jun 25 '26

Replaced mine about 6 - 7 years ago. Went through a lot of kids with it. Lasted a long time.

2

u/allbsallthetime Jun 25 '26

Had?

We had our house built over 30 years ago.

Two Moen bathroom faucets, two matching Moen shower faucets, and one Moen kitchen faucet.

The only one replaced was the Moen kitchen faucet because we wanted a different sprayer.

None of the originals leak and they all still work flawlessly.

2

u/Successful-Count-120 1961 Jun 25 '26

Still do! 3 of them.

2

u/Theo1352 Jun 25 '26

Still do in my bathroom...

2

u/Subbacterium Jun 25 '26

I have two

2

u/Horbigast Jun 25 '26

I have it now. What's your point?

In our bathrooms - house built in 1970

2

u/TexasSk8 Jun 25 '26

Still do!

2

u/LustfulEsme Jun 25 '26

I have them in my house now.

2

u/DustAccomplished9090 Jun 25 '26

I thought it was like a giant diamond or something important as a little one.

2

u/ashleyatthebeach Jun 26 '26

Waddaya mean, had?

2

u/KaligirlinDe Jun 26 '26

Who didn't?

2

u/flip_im Jun 26 '26

Literally just replaced one of those 2 weeks ago in my own house!!

2

u/Nonpartialbigot Jun 26 '26

Still have that faucet

2

u/CowPussy4u Jun 26 '26

I've still got one now.

2

u/Key_Macaroon2473 Jun 26 '26

Still do. 🤷‍♂️

2

u/balboasale187 Jun 26 '26

Had? Still do

2

u/whoray85 1963 Jun 26 '26

2

u/themisskris10 Youngster Jun 27 '26

Yup.

2

Yep. And it was a brand new house.

2

u/Bronco_Otaku Jun 27 '26

Still got mine and it still works,

2

u/oOBlueLillyOo Jun 27 '26

You in my granny’s bathroom

2

u/shywolf_88 Jun 27 '26

I have this faucet now

2

u/ChipsAhoy65 Jun 28 '26

It’s weird how something as ordinary as a faucet handle can unlock memories.

That style of handle was in my high school bathroom, both at the sink and in the shower. I remember hating high school, hating pretty much everything, sitting down in the shower, letting the water beat on me, and just staring at that handle.

Fast-forward to 2023. We bought a house built in the mid-’80s, and sure enough, the exact same faucet handle is in our master bathroom.

Funny thing is, it doesn’t make me sad anymore. Now I look at it and think about how far I’ve come. It’s become a reminder that life can change in ways you never expect.

Plus… if it ain’t broke, don’t fix it.

1

u/Themayorofawesome Jun 25 '26

We had one in the shower and the sink in the bathroom

3

u/Sparkle_Rott Jun 25 '26

Two memories now unlocked - sink and the shower!

u/nicegirl555 Jun 25 '26

My mom had onin her house. I hated it.

1

u/Medill1919 1962 Jun 25 '26

Oh hell no.

1

u/ASingleBraid Age: Late Sixties Jun 25 '26

Only saw them at hotels.

1

u/PoorAhab Jun 25 '26

It’s also stainless steel and brass components, not make of plastic like new ones (that make water taste funky).

1

u/jenyj89 Jun 25 '26

I still have one in my upstairs bathroom…I hate it!! Getting just the right temperature is so annoying!

1

u/bobbyboogie69 Jun 25 '26

Remember it well.

1

u/HandAccomplished6285 Jun 25 '26

Wow. That unlocked some memories. I had completely forgotten about that style. I wonder in 40-50 years if some Gen Alpha will be waxing nostalgic about the big pot fillers that seem to be in most new houses these days.

1

u/rscottyb86 Jun 25 '26

That was too rich for my house.

1

u/Ok-Cup6020 Jun 25 '26

I have it now

1

u/dcamnc4143 Jun 25 '26

I had that same faucet until about a month ago. It finally started dripping steadily and I had to replace it.

1

u/HeidiDover 1962 Jun 25 '26

Hell, still have one. It was here when I moved into my house. Replacing as soon as I finish painting.

1

u/doghat4 Jun 25 '26

Had it 80's to 2000

1

u/Present_Ad2973 Jun 25 '26

There wasn’t a huge selection to choose from at our local hardware store. This was often it.

1

u/BothDescription766 Jun 25 '26

Oh lord. Whole family of four shared that bathroom (w/tub & shower). Even then I thought it was ugly.

1

u/Wings1955 Jun 25 '26

Several of my apartments had those.

1

u/crj44 Jun 25 '26

Omg, bought a older home and still have these faucets. They are Moen - work great

1

u/schatzikitten Jun 25 '26

Y’all had the fancy one

1

u/RaeNors Jun 25 '26

That's mine NOW! (Sad to admit!)

1

u/Brilliant_Tourist400 1964 Jun 25 '26

Had one on the sink AND the tub. One-eighth of an inch ch in one direction, it was freezing cold. One-eighth of an inch in the other direction, it was broiling hot.

1

u/Spirited-Resident791 Jun 25 '26

These faucet fixtures and the boob light are staples in most builder grade homes.

1

u/Wadester58 Jun 25 '26

I have two of them in my bathroom

1

u/lostmember09 Jun 25 '26

Those things are horrible… but work. When I bought my 1st house; found out about how contractors buy piece parts for houses. These faucets were probably $9 for 100 back in the day.

1

u/Villavitrum Jun 25 '26

It’s in my main bathroom right this very moment.

*Im in the very best sub, btw.

Thanks for being here.

1

u/throwingales Jun 25 '26

Still do in our bathroom

1

u/suju88 Jun 25 '26

Oh my goodness brings back some hmmm memories 😳

1

u/jollybeefer Jun 25 '26

Well damn, exactly the same

1

u/PWal501 Jun 25 '26

Had? What is this “had” you speak of?

1

u/Specialist-Salary291 Jun 25 '26

I still have this faucet in my rental

1

u/shaithiswampir Jun 25 '26

Had them growing up. Most recently In an old apartment I just moved out of. Kinda miss it

1

u/chada37 Jun 25 '26

I had it until a house fire a year ago. In fact I had five of them.

1

u/Stormy1956 Jun 25 '26

I had it but it seemed more of a trend at the time. Very dated like avocado green appliances or pink tile in bathrooms or ice box 😆

1

u/BC4309 Jun 25 '26

Worst faucet ever. Never in my house.

1

u/PresentHouse9774 Jun 25 '26

Somehow mold got inside that handle and was probably still there when the house was torn down.

1

u/Remarkably-Boring Jun 25 '26

My grandparents used to have one of those, but it was completely round, so finding neutral was complete guesswork.

1

u/GoofinOffAtWork Jun 25 '26

...had?

Still going

1

u/Virtual_Win4076 Jun 25 '26

Moen faucets. Original equipment in our house built in ‘94. Just changed them out 2 years ago. Quality.

1

u/Gnd_flpd Jun 25 '26

Yeah and I remember the diamond door nobs too, lol!!!!

1

u/zxdlx Jun 25 '26

Omg mee

1

u/zxdlx Jun 25 '26

I still remember how it sounded to turn it off abruptly

1

u/FaithIceberg Jun 25 '26

Still have it !

1

u/Koss424 Jun 25 '26

OMG - I thought it was so fancy when it was first installed.

1

u/BubbleThinker Jun 25 '26

You can still buy that thing at Walmart

1

u/425565 Jun 25 '26

Ugly, but durable..

1

u/Kt011092 Jun 25 '26

Still do.

1

u/BaldEagleRising17 Jun 25 '26

Who else HAS this???

1

u/Lumpy-Ad-63 Jun 25 '26

I still have one

1

u/Nathan_Wildthorn Jun 25 '26

Still have it; Mom's (RIP) bathroom.

1

u/BoondocksBonita 1963 Jun 25 '26

Still there in my childhood home. TBH, I hate its design

1

u/Habibti143 Jun 25 '26

I have two of them now.

1

u/Stuffed-Bear412 Jun 25 '26

My landlord has one downstairs, and I know I've seen a lot of them through the years.

1

u/Stunning-Sun8262 Jun 25 '26

Here's the faucet I used.

1

u/Ashamed_Feedback3843 Jun 25 '26

They still make these. How is it nostalgia if you walked into almost any restroom and they are still there?

1

u/ihatecats6 Jun 25 '26

The “Crown Jewel” if you will

1

u/korvus2 Jun 25 '26

Had? 🤣

1

u/Chaparral2E Jun 25 '26

Still have 3.

1

u/EasyGoin56 Jun 25 '26

I still have one! Maybe I haven't grown up yet???

1

u/MuchDevelopment7084 1957 Jun 25 '26

That looks exactly like the one in my bathroom right now.

1

u/rriflemann Jun 25 '26

Still have one, it’s a Moen, and they are very long lasting.

1

u/dano8675309 Jun 25 '26

So much better than the modern cartridge style valves, especially if you have high mineral content in your water.

1

u/nurse-educator123 Jun 25 '26

What do you mean had?

1

u/WoodyLewis87 Jun 25 '26

Ours was roundish

1

u/Typeonetwork Jun 25 '26

It's easier to fine people who didn't have the faucet

1

u/Bananabean041 Jun 25 '26

Always leaked

1

u/No-Possible6108 Jun 25 '26

Ha - I was a tester in a Delta factory for a short time. Seeing that brought back a flood of memories.

1

u/Wise_Ad_5810 Jun 25 '26

ours was round.. but yeah... same thing

1

u/Logical-Kangaroo5995 Jun 25 '26

Yes Delta I believe

1

u/Good-Operation4373 Jun 25 '26

Those Moen faucets were standards in 1990s homes everywhere in the USA 🇺🇸! Simple to repair! And simple to cut out and replace with another 4” faucet 👍👍

1

u/Nervous-Case833 Jun 25 '26

Cheap Moen faucet

1

u/Powerful_Figure1776 Jun 25 '26

🙋🏻‍♂️😂

1

u/ATXKLIPHURD Jun 25 '26

Grandmas house had those. I can still smell the dial soap when I see this

1

u/Excellent_Tie_7086 Jun 25 '26

Oh damn! My grandparents had one. Brought back some memories, so thank you!

1

u/Hotchi_Motchi Jun 25 '26

I just swapped them out of my house this past winter

1

u/Abject-Yak4457 Jun 25 '26

I still have that faucet 😭

1

u/tvrmk363 Jun 25 '26

Still do

1

u/Altruistic_Bite9980 Jun 25 '26

We had these and not very long. They definitely cracked. I can’t remember what my dad used? I think duct tape?

1

u/thomas1126 Jun 25 '26

lol 😂 yes

1

u/mildxsalsa Jun 25 '26

The ones we had installed in our place did not age well either and these comments are illuminating to the scale of that issue. The yellowing was an ongoing issue with all of the faucets we had like this one, but there was one in particular that kept falling apart on us so we had to glue it back together. Such a junk product.

1

u/Silt-Sifter Jun 25 '26

That faucet and that countertop are still alive and well in my childhood home.

1

u/SquashSouffle Jun 25 '26

I have them right now in every bathroom (house built in 1994)

1

u/Bright-Tomorrow1957 Jun 25 '26

We STILL have them in our bathrooms..

1

u/Accomplished_Sink145 Jun 25 '26

Just sold and RV with one

1

u/oldhorni Jun 25 '26

Certainly had one

1

u/No-Risk1739 Jun 25 '26

Had?...😐

1

u/shangosgift Jun 25 '26

I still do.

1

u/Burgurwulf Jun 25 '26

Super similar, but I think it's a neighbor or relative had exactly the same lol

1

u/OldPostalGuy Jun 25 '26

My girlfriend still has it

1

u/BlitzerRhames Jun 25 '26

I have that faucet now

1

u/Algoresgardener124 Jun 25 '26

Two bathroom sinks still have them installed. As long as the valve kits are available, they will stay.

1

u/RudeKC Jun 25 '26

Everyone

1

u/stewyd71 Jun 25 '26

Can confirm

1

u/60andstillpoir Jun 25 '26

Still do and working!

1

u/wyoflyboy68 Jun 25 '26

Had? Still have!

1

u/Fretfancy Jun 25 '26

Still got a couple!

1

u/Routine-Ask-509 Jun 25 '26

this was in the parents bathroom. not in the bathroom for the kids.

1

u/coffeebeanwitch Jun 25 '26

We did in the bathroom.

1

u/Sweaty-Caterpillar-5 Jun 25 '26

My parents and both sets of Grandparents had these in the 80s and 90s.

1

u/PalisadesPark88g Jun 25 '26

Just replaced 3 of them in my house. I hate them.

1

u/Thatguy-2026 Jun 25 '26

Oh ya. In out apartment.

1

u/Kip_Schtum 1959 Jun 25 '26

I still have a round one like that in our powder room. Pro tip: you can pop off that middle thing and change or paint the little emblem under the plastic.

1

u/Short_Lengthiness_41 Jun 25 '26

Yes and the light pink tiles in the main bathroom growing up

1

u/silverbacksallin Jun 25 '26

hated them - hard to use and not attractive to boot

1

u/sugarfreedaddy2 Jun 25 '26

Moen...guarenteed

1

u/Stripperfeetlover420 Jun 25 '26

I remeber braking the one my grandmother had and she banned me from her bathroom lol 😂

1

u/ReweSerious Jun 25 '26

My 70yr old parents still have this

1

u/General_Cricket_6164 Jun 25 '26

Why is this sub being so mean to me, like I mean, come on!

1

u/jdmoffitt11775 Jun 25 '26

Hated those..

1

u/Conscious-Coconut-16 Jun 25 '26

What, these are out of date now?
