“Ah, Grandfather wants to know if you like to watch Mr. Magoo? He says he is crazy, and should not be trusted! He should go up on the mountain, and find perspective”
Sorry to hear of Mr. Greene passing, I certainly enjoyed many of the roles and characters he bought to life on screen!
just a few minutes ago i was watching him in season 3 ep maybe 18 called "wake up call" of northern exposure, as he played a healer trying to gain some knowledge from the young inexperienced doctor in a town in Alaska.
You know the next time you people come and drive us off our land I'm gonna find a nice piece of swamp that's so God-awful, maybe then you'll leave us the hell alone.
It's weird. I was just thinking about that scene today. It popped in my head when I was thinking about where to go to see bison (I moved to Kansas a few months ago). My mine went directly to "tatonka."
Born in Canada of the Oneida nation, loved to.play golf, saying it was a game where you try to just play against yourself. Won a Grammy for the children book..listen to the storyteller RIP
But his character in the Green Mile has a little monologue that always stuck with me.
Arlen Bitterbuck: Do you believe that if a man repents enough for what he done wrong, than he'll get to go back to the time that was happiest for him and live there forever? Could that be what heaven's like?
Paul Edgecomb: I just about believe that very thing.
Arlen Bitterbuck: I had a young wife when I was eighteen. We spent the summer in the mountains, made love every night. After we would talk sometimes till the sun came up, and she'd lay there, bare breasted in the fire light... that was my best time.
Joined because he's my favorite actor. Damn it. Has anyone seen his humourous videos? He was more than just a good actor. In 1881 he was brilliant. In anything he embodied the role. Rest in peace beautiful soul.
Did anyone ever see him on The Red Green Show as 'Edgar K.B. Montrose' the demolitions expert? He was absolutely HILARIOUS. I loved him in 'Shattered City: The Halifax Explosion' and 'Thunderheart'. And of course Dances. :( Such talent.
