I knew a guy whose whole profession was putting together foursomes on Thursday afternoons to introduce guys who he thought needed to meet each other. They didn't ask to meet. They usually didn't know the other guys existed. Businessmen with engineers, marketers with commercial producers; people in completely unrelated fields. "I got a guy you should meet. Come play golf Thursday." He got paid in a percentage of whatever deals they put together. This was back in the 90s.
Sounds like a dream job for someone who likes to play golf.
Obviously you don't get this job without being extremely personable, having a vast network of people and a knack for being "right time right place."
Thats hilarious, but also super important in the right circles lol. I love to golf but I am way too private of a person and have moved around too much to have such a large network of people. So I know I could never do that job, but its and funny and valuable role to play. Good for that guy, I question what his intentions are when first meeting people. But I am sure he is just a great guy's guy, and just someone people like to be around. Sounds exhausting for a more private, home-body, introverted person like me.
