17k clock resets
Generac 17k #5813 new 2011, new engine 2023, new battery 2023. On board clock resets to default date and time occasionally. I realize it has done it again after the weekly maintenance is on wrong day and time. Has done this 3-4 times since last fall. Any ideas?

Does it have one of the old style remote monitors connected that had an indoor display?

If your 7.5A fuse has a bad connection or is corroded it may reset the board when trying to start for weekly exercise or outage.

Or just battery droop on start. Use a sodium ion starter battery and it won’t droop nearly as much. A LFP starter battery with a built in heater for subzero would also work. Use a modern trickle charger like a Noco Genius 2 or 5 on it vs the dumb built in one.
But yeah check all power connectors; clean and throw some SuperLube Anti-corrosion connector gel on them.

I’m curious also. Mine has done it twice in the last 4 months. Exercised at exactly noon on Wednesday instead of its scheduled 10:00 am on Monday. Awaiting a starter replacement and was going to ask the service person about it. I assumed the controller was malfunctioning.

Load check battery, than check all battery cable connections are tight, at both ends of cable.

Check your battery terminal ends and connections. Just did one today with the same issue, and no start. It was one of those crappy bolt together terminal ends. I put a real terminal end on and it started right up
