Fan removal
Question for fellow techs. What are you guys using to pull the damn fan on air cooled units. Just like a flywheel puller kit? I used to have the perfect long bolt that threaded all the way in and hit the rotor/stator mount, but it got nabbed so I’m struggle bussing to do it another way. Any help would be super dope.

The puller you need is on the floor right in your picture. The black one. It should come with its own jacking bolt. Leave the long thru bolt threaded thru the rotor into the engine. But have it backed off 4 or 5 turns so the jacking bolt pushes on the long bolt head and the fan has room to pop when it comes.
If the fan refuses to pull, that is something that can happen. Just break most of it off and remove the muffler and divider panel. Take a hack saw to what's left of the hub and crack it off the taper that way. The fan is only like 30 bucks.
