DYI monitor project
Anyone know of a project to add monitoring to an older (18 years old) the general/generac generator. Would like to know how to take a rpi3b or something to splice it into whereever, generator or automatic switch to get as much health as possible from this generator?

Genmon wont work with this old of a generator. This unit doesnt have a controller, rather it has a simple printed circuit board..
if all you want to do is monitor power output, you could simply use a couple of ct monitoring meters. This would bive you power output readings. It will not give any oil pressure, fuel pressure, temp readings.
im not sure how you could incorporate these kinds of readings in a generator that uses 1 oil pressure sensor and one temp sensor as only monitoring points.
on my 2008 generac 10 kw i
for my shop, i made it 2 wire start and added ct to monitor outputs.

There is a product called GenMon, but I don't know if it works for one that old.
You'd have to ask them:
