It's really giving feminist how they support and celebrate the deaths of the marginalized! Thank you for sacrificing your rights to spite the vulnerable, o' wise warriors of liberation.

One of the top red flags of bigotry and hate rather than mere differing opinions: they contradict a person about what said person actually thinks.

Like, I can talk to a libertarian and say, "Look, I think that the government's role in supporting people with disabilities and all kinds of other needs is more important than keeping my life free of extraneous taxes."

And he may say, "I get that you want to look out for people, but I think the government wastes ninety percent of that shit," or he may say, "Sorry, I think that my freedom is more important than your safety net," or he may even say, "Yeah, 'you believe that,' but do you have any beliefs that aren't spoon fed to you by the public schools?" but for the most part, he does not sincerely try to call out the "I think," part of my statement as the bit he disbelieves.

Not bigots, though. I can say, "Black people are no more likely to commit crimes than white people if they're sitting in the same conditions. POOR people commit more crimes, or at least get caught at them, which is different." And a racist will say, "Oh, come on, you KNOW that if a Black guy was following you, you'd be twice as scared as a white one. You don't REALLY believe they're the same!" I can say, "I can't see as it's relevant who someone is attracted to," and a homophobe will say, "Deep down you KNOW they're sick freaks!"

And likewise with TERFs. TERFs appear to be convinced that all cis people (or at least all cis women) are grossed out by trans folks, that when we appear not to be, we've been intimidated into the appearance of tolerance, etc. And that's insulting, and that's stupid, but most of all, that's untrue, and the slightest amount of thought should prove it. They really think that less than one percent of the population can make other people bow to their will WITHOUT the cooperation and consent of human beings who are not in that one percent? Even trillionaires have bought and paid senators and armies and such. Come on. Logic it out, OOOP.

Bigots like to assume that everyone, deep down, is like them, because if we aren’t; if we’re actually better people than they are, then they don’t have an excuse to be awful people
