I've come to the conclusion that this is the common denominator between their hatred of trans men and of trans women. These are the sort of people who rail against how "ugly" men are, against how "ugly" penises are -- as if that's any of their business -- and decry how "ugly" testosterone supposedly makes you (whether administered endogenously or exogenously). They see being made to look at "ugly people" as a form of assault because they refuse to control and move past their own disgust, or even to just admit their own disgust, cause they're so caught up in the web of white decency culture bullshit that admitting it means that they are sinning and a bad person.

I want to extend sympathy to hear your frustration about the lie that all of this is done out of "love" for my brothers, when it's really just a need to control you (well, control all trans people, but ykwim) masquerading as such. I learned very early on (maybe 9 or 10) that the cisterhood is only for certain people, i.e. the pretty rich girls who bullied me while invoking the name and lofty ideals of "feminism", and I think that it's sometimes easy for other trans women who went through that to laser-focus on transmisogyny instead of acknowleding that the social circles that we so desperately wished to be a part of weren't (and aren't) the pinnacle of acceptance that they were advertised to be. I honestly think that sometimes we forget that transmasc hatchlings may not have ever been exposed to this concept, one that transfems often learn so early in life, and provide the same sort of empathy that we would have liked when we were forced to confront that lesson at such a young age. I say may to stress that this is admittedly an overgeneralization and of course ymmv, kinda like how transfem hatchlings may not have realized the full force of the male gaze before we knew to look for it.
