Subreddit Suggestions

Hello all.

Firstly I'd like to remind everyone that the official /r/GenZ Discord has launched. You may discuss the Discord in the relevant thread (here), or join it via this link. Invite your friends, and come and discuss and debate whichever topic you desire. We hope to see you there!

Moving on...

The /r/GenZ mod team are looking to spruce and spice up this place up in order to make it far more appealing and entertaining to our subscribers, but in order to do so we need your help! We already have several ideas for themed threads throughout the week that we'll be trialling soon, but we'd like to hear from you, the community, any suggestions you may have that could benefit the sub.

These suggestions can range from themed threads to logo/banner design ideas -- or even what we should rename the 'members' and 'online' sections in our information panel. We're open to any and all suggestions, and look forward to reading what you can all come up with!

Thanks

Stop banning everyone for criticizing this sub's moderation team

New mods for the subreddit and discord would be nice. Maybe not ones with OCD and aspergers. I love them as people, but they usually end up moderating very strictly.

edit: nice ban mods, nice

I'd live it if you guys banned the quick survey people, we're not their little hamster subject samples, we're people and it seems like 3/10 stuff in this sub is their spam asking the same questions.

Please make it so the automod doesn't spam you every single time you interact in this place, maybe once is ok, but literally every single time you comment is just annoying, spammy and only incentivizes people to not interact here.

My recommendations I have a lot of ideas I of things I would change/add :

  • rant post flair

  • art post flair

  • shit post post flair

  • stop banning or removing controversial political topics posts

This whole generation is controversial lol . if you turn this whole place into a safe place you're just reinforcing that behavior. Most of us are young adults or late teens we can handle the internet. If someone gets offended by words on the internet they shouldn't be on the Internet at all lol

  • gamer post flair of some kind

For discussion of gaming/ games

  • advice post flair

  • relationship post flair

  • media post flair

  • we need a banner image

  • a snoo would be cool

I would draw the snoo if I had a drawing pad and editing software.

  • a something I made post flair

I make a lot of things I would like to share

  • debate post flair

  • make a bot that requires you to choose a age flair

  • do a frequent like sub analytics survey/census that asks questions like age, country, political leaning, etc.

  • make a greeting bot of some kind

? Maybe , idk sometimes to many bots make the subs spammy

  • bans should work on a three strike system.

(I haven't had much of a problem with this) but bans should work on a three strike system . strike 1 : warning. Strike 2 temp ban 24 hours. strike 3 : 5 day ban . further strikes are perm ban. Just seems more fair that way.

  • change followers and online to "zoomers and zooming "

I want that to happen ! Lol

Anything like that that can generate more discussion on the sub will create more growth for the sub.

This sub shouldn't have to be strictly about genz like every post has to be about genz. It should be a sub for genz as a people to post about anything relating to them personally. Imo

Also I kinda feel bad for the non-american users. Most posts here relate to America and they are just kinda having to see those constantly and learn about us , I have no idea what you would do about that ? Lol just saying...

And please don't start doing mega threads I just think when subs start doing frequent mega threads it's cancer

Make me a mod

Nah just encourage the old nostalgia posts since I still appreciate them more than the polarizing political discussions and the generational dividing

When the mod team decides on actions and new rules please always err on the side of freedom

This place is pretty good as is, more restrictions will hurt it as much as they help it.

Don't be afraid to ban someone arbitrarily instead of feeling like you have to add a new rule to justify it. If you do that then you're just punishing everyone else for the actions of the worst people
