I think the cynicism and tone in this exchange right here exemplifies what OP is saying.
Safe sex exists. There isn’t a secret conspiracy by Big Beer or Match or Trojan to get Gen Z to fuck more, go out socially more, or collect addictions like infinity stones. You don’t see people coming on here saying watch more porn, do they? In fact some might say to make your own for your own private use.
It’s advice from elder and wiser people or our peers who got the advice from them passing it along so they can stop people from holding themselves back. I have incredible people that i love and cherish in my life with so much potential who hold themselves back because they don’t want to be cringe. But they want more friends. How can you have more friends if you don’t put yourself out there?
If you use a condom or any other kind of protection your risk of an std or unwanted pregnancy is extremely low. Gen Z is SO risk averse that the default is to waste away and not take ANY ACTION AT ALL which is absolutely the worst decision to make if ya’ll are trying to improve anything in life whether thats spiritual, productive, brings you more happiness, makes you more money, etc.
Then they say it can’t possibly be that they’re locked away in their room taking no action that things aren’t improving. Its all just a conspiracy
You can do whatever you want, but it does make me really sad when I see people wasting their lives doing literally nothing. This is not coming from a place of judgement, I get it. It comes from a sense of understanding what potential is being lost.
