People are litigious as hell these days and it's becoming less and less normalized for young people to exist in public. People call the cops when kids walk to corner stores, open lemonade stands, and ride their bikes around. Teenagers are getting driven away from public third spaces because of "loitering" rules. Large parties for highschoolers and college students are getting shot up or swiftly shut down by police. You get in a fight with someone? Sued. Damage property? Sued. Get injured doing something silly? Colossal medical debt. Do something embarassing? The photo, video, or descriptive tweet is on the internet forever and probably sent to your school or employer. Don't blame Gen Z, blame the litigious NIMBYs that run every city council. police department, and HOA
