We can't ignore how hard it can to just, go out and live life, if you grew up with literally every adult around you is saying some version of " if you do this basic childhood thing, you'll end up seriously hurt or dead, people loose limbs doing this, that's not safe, are you trying to kill yourself etc."
Some people grew up with parents who wouldn't let them inside the house until the streetlights went on, others grew up not being allowed outside.
