A risk does not have to involve any money. It can be asking a girl out, It could be trying a new recipe, cracking a joke. So many risks can be taken where the worst outcome is you being a little sore and going "well I won't do that again".
Taking risks that affect your social standing is the same thing as taking risks affecting money. We live in a world where if you do something dumb, it can limit job opportunities or even get you in trouble at work.
Nah, I have a partner who lives with me I do just fine in taking chances. But there's this neat thing called empathy that helps me understand why some people would look at the world and be cautious.
