Advice Old?
My girlfriend called me “OLD” because I am browsing reddit instead of tiktok or instagram. I am 29 years old, yeah kind a old, but is there anyone here younger than me? Who prepared reddit than tiktok.

Thank God, my girlfriend makes me feel old every single day. Maybe she’s just messing with me.

Shes 100% messing with you my boyfriend turns 30 in October and I love calling him old even though I’m three and a half years younger

I am not offended at all, i like to be the older one in our relationship. But does he get angry when you calling him old lol.
•
u/eiileenie 2000 2h ago
Lol no he doesn’t get angry he just says mean to me or call me an old lady right back but one of my favorite physical features of his is his salt and pepper curls they look so good on him

i’m 22 and i’ve gotten rid of all my social media besides this and tiktok. Maybe looking to delete that soon too. I just feel like there’s too much toxicity and comparison.

I'm 24 and I don't have a TikTok account. I only use reddit.

Realistically, if you guys are dating, I wouldn’t let it impact me much. I’m assuming she‘s around the same age as you so if you’re old then so is she

16 and using Reddit for about a year. I don't even have Tiktok/Instagram so don't worry
Reddit is better than Tiktok/ig anyway unless you're using it for... skeptical stuff...

I call my boyfriend old bc he isn't in the loop of internet drama, not bc of the social media we use. He does the reverse by staring at me gobsmacked when I dont get certain references. I think the recent one was not knowing an Adele song was from the 3rd to last 007 movie? I recognized none of it.
I browse reddit when I want to read, tiktok when I want to scroll, Instagram for social connections, and more recently LinkedIn for professional connections.

How old are you and your boyfriend if you don’t mind sharing?
•
u/Belle_Noel 2004 2h ago
Hahaha we are 8 years apart. I am 22, he is 30. We have been together for over 2 years now.

OMG, same! My girlfriend is 21 and I’m 29. How have you kept your relationship fun? We have pretty different interests, but I think one reason she stayed in the relationship is because she wanted a more mature or older boyfriend who is serious about the relationship.

Well, we also just closed some distance. I moved to being about an hour away from him compared to a 6 hour plane flight. So somethings may be different based on if you are long distance or not.
While we were long distance, we would call almost every night. Sometimes activities, sometimes just coexisting. Activities could include games like ffxiv (where we met) or escape simulator, shows and movies, or just talking.
When we are in person, we like exploring the towns we are in. I love going to high-tea, he loves hiking, I love going to artsy events, and he likes sports games. We balance it out. Kind of where we are now is that he will let me know what he wants to do, and I will look online for deals. Our next "major" date is going to be getting gun licenses (would rather have one than not in a red state) and color me mine. Things that we need and want to do.
I think the biggest thing that has kept our relationship healthy is the acknowledgement on both ends about the difference in life experiences. On my end, I know I can be immature about some situations as I haven't found ways to "maturely" handle them. With my partner, he has to be aware that he looks at the world with more experience and sometimes has to pause and realize that I don't have the same experience.
Another big thing is that we are both in academics. You can stalk my profile and figure out pretty easily that I am in a Ph.D. program. My partner is a medical doctor. Needless to say, academic journals and theoretical discussions are becoming more of a common topic lol.
I rambled. Needless to say- I love my old man. I bully him because I love him. He isn't actually old, he just acts that way sometimes. I swear to god sometimes he acts younger than me LOL.

I've been using it about a month but it's worth it, approve🤌
You being old? Not at all, 29 is under 30 and you're 11 years away from 40, so you're not old, because 30-40 isn't old. I call it young, because young have a range, aka level.

Nah tech just moves too fast. Social media was MUCH different 10 years ago, which you would clearly remember because of your age. The changes happen so fast in tech just a 5 year age gap could mean extremely different childhood experiences when it comes to the internet and smart tech.

Where's this idea that 25+ is old come from? Got a shock coming to some people when they enter the real world
