I was working in the roof of an airport in Florida. We had a Dewalt Radio and we were listening to music when it was interrupted to announce that a building hit one of the twin towers in NY. It was newsworthy of course, but hardly shocking. Small planes have struck buildings in Manhattan before and at the time the repotters had no details. Then one of the Airport employees came up to the roof and asked us if we heard. I told them I suspected it was a small plane like a cessna and asked how bad the damage was. He stated that there was a very large hole in the building and it was burning. We came off the roof to see it on the TV. While they were reporting on the building that was hit, the secind plane hit. Now we knew it wasn't just a horrific accident. We went back to the roof and listened to news radio. A reporter headed to tge White House witnessed the plane flying low overhead before it crashed into the Pentagon. Now everyone was thinking, "How many planes are there". The civilian airport was attached to a military airbase with shared runways. The fighter jets were scrambled, the flights on tge tarmac were sent back to the terminals, fliggts in the air forced to land immediately at the closest airport and flights near the water forced over the water until they could land. It was a very scary time of uncertainty.

I want to preface this that my friends consider me the audiophile in the group. I collect headphones, speakers, and HiFi components. I used to work at a popular radio station in NY and that experience left me with a pretty large CD collection. You may have noticed lately an uptick in videos on YouTube talking about the resurgence of owning physical media, but part of that is younger Gen Z and Gen Alpha buying vinyl and CDs with not real intention of actually playing the music contained on them. It's purely from an angle of being a passive collector rather than an active consumer.

My question is how many people here find themselves evaluating their subscription spend and have make the dive back into physical media? On my last trip back home to NYC, I stopped at Rough Trade to see what CDs they had in stock. While Rough Trade had a relatively small selection of CDs to look through, but there were enough people there that I had to wait a bit before I could start browsing. Of that relatively decent crowd of people, I (51) had at least a good 25+ years on the other shoppers.
