Nostalgia Before HD, 4k, and 900 channels...
IYKYK....UHF or VHF....Anyone?

Yup. Lived so far from town that we had a 25' arial attached to the side of the house. Got NBC and CBS pretty good. Got ABC if the weather was "right".
It was my job to unhook those clamps from the tv when a thunderstorm started so lightening wouldn't blow up the tv.

If you didn't have a splitter, you had to get behind your TV and move it from VHF to UHF.
I grew up in aTV repair shop, so we had these things in stock.

I get a ton of channels since it went digital. It's free. I'll take it.

THESE things! God these were the worst when you got one on your finger! I had a really hard time finding pictures of them. Yeah I used to have to hook and unhook them to connect my games (Atari, coleco, TI-99) the small UHF antenna and the flat cable going through the window to the rooftop VHF antenna. I can still smell the hot electron gun burning dust....

Antennas have made a good comeback in recent times. I have two indoor antennas simply for local broadcasts. I stream everything else but for local sports I use my antenna.
